Ensure all tests are conducted on time and on quality targets
As Test Manager, your primary focus is to ensure that all tests prior to UAT are conducted on time and on quality targets, while supporting our business needs for more frequent releases, shorter lead time and repeatable less resource intensive testing efforts. This includes conducting training on testing framework and ongoing communication on how it is used, being willing to advise projects on the test strategy or even assess their test plan and come up with tangible advise on how to improve their coverage and outcome of their testing efforts.

A further area of responsibility is to follow up with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement and learnings from releases being embedded as actual actions increasing the quality of the IT solutions delivered.

Also, you are expected to:

  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key stakeholders and liaise with business/solution/technical teams to facilitate timely and successful activities to support all phases of testing
  • Maintain timely communications to IT and business stakeholders throughout project life cycle to ensure common understanding of testing and impact to the business areas
  • Participate in a continuous learning and cross-team knowledge sharing culture among IT
  • Keep abreast of the latest trends in technology and test practices, ensuring timely exploration and proactively communicate IT’s position towards the introduction of relevant/key emerging technologies.

Your new team
As our Subject Matter Expert in testing you will continuously align with the 3 local team members of our Development & Test Center and with our outsourcing partners, Application owners and their projects to ensure full visibility of tasks, risks and the level of testing at any given time.

The Development & Test Center reports to the Director of Core Architecture and work with both internal and external stakeholders and service providers on a regular basis. Strong background in business or system analysis combined with strong collaboration skills
To succeed as Application Test Manager, we imagine that you have a strong background in business or system analysis with the ability to understand the as-is process, conduct gap analysis with new system features/functionalities and come up with the to-be process. You have excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Furthermore, you are able to act with diplomacy and sensitivity to cultural diversity and can act professionally with diverse group of stakeholders. You are highly motivated and have the leadership and team management skills it requires to drive results.

Adding to the above, we also hope to see that you have and can demonstrate:

  • Minimum 7 years of testing experience in relation to software development & configuration, preferably business applications and complex integrations, in a large international organisation with a heterogenous application portfolio and extensive cloud focus
  • Advanced implementation and end-to-end integration experience with technology components used by global FMCG incl. ERP and middle-tier platforms, web-services, Software-as-a-service and mobile apps in general, and of the Microsoft technology stack in particular (.NET, AX, Biztalk, Azure, ADO, …)
  • Experience with process improvements in relation to testing and implementation of information systems – experience and understanding of the key FMCG processes is a plus
  • Deep knowledge about all aspects of manual and automated testing disciplines
  • Understanding of agile methods and processes, and capability of supporting agile project teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact, and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt
  • Test certifications (ISTQB or similar) are a benefit
  • Experience with outsourced testing, testing-as-a-service, automated application testing, waterfall and particular agile development approaches (Scrum / SAFe and DevOps / DevSecOps) is considered a plus
