If you have a broad experience in ensuring timely and effective financial management support in complex operational contexts, managing international donor framework audits processes and having the ability to lead and develop a team of financial specialists, you might be the one we are looking for. Who are we?

The FRISC (Finance, Supply Chain and Risk) Department is one of the core support functions in DRC headquarters and consists of around 75 talented and engaged colleagues who are responsible for DRC’s financial affairs globally in close cooperation with the operational departments.

About the job

You will lead the managers of two teams of controllers supporting our 40 country operations. One of the teams focuses on the financial part of humanitarian project implementation and the other on general financial management of DRC’s country operations. You will furthermore directly manage a small team of specialists working with donor audits. You will be a member of the management team in FRISC together with 3 other managers and our CFO.

Leading effective and efficient support on financial management in global operational contexts

As the Head of Operational Finance, you are an expert in navigating through the complex global operational contexts and responsible for ensuring timely and high-quality support to DRC’s field operations in areas of financial project management as well as general financial management. You will also take lead on setting up an efficient and flexible support structure for substitution on financial tasks and processes in DRC’s field operations as needed and ensure appropriate handover and learning after the substitution period. Within your team, you will oversee the overall management and strategic development of the two teams of controllers.

High level of influence on processes for delivering quality donor audits

Working with DRC’s Operations worldwide, you will be responsible for timely delivery and management of the process for donor framework audits and other audit requests processed in the HQ. You will also take the lead on providing a process and give effective support to DRC’s global operations to deliver high-quality results in external audits as well as participate in promoting the subsequent learnings.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have

Required

  • University degree or equivalent within a relevant area
  • 5-7 years’ experiences with financial project reporting and financial management
  • Minimum 3 years’ experiences working with financial aspects of Project Cycle Management, preferably within international humanitarian organisations or other sectors with global institutional donors
  • Minimum 5 years’ leadership experiences

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Danish, French, Spanish or Arabic
  • Work experiences within humanitarian sector or other sectors with global institutional donors
  • Knowledge of Dynamics 365 (Finance & Operations)

We offer

Contract length: Permanent

Workplace: Borgergade 10, Copenhagen

Start date: As soon as possible

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the agreement between DRC and Lederaftalen (Management agreement). This is a national position for which local terms and conditions apply.
