As the Investigations Advisor, you will play a critical role in advancing organizational accountability and integrity. Reporting to and working closely with the Head of Internal Audit, your core responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting thorough investigations of cases primarily submitted through the whistleblower scheme.
  • Developing investigative plans for complex cases by identifying key allegations, required evidence, and investigative tasks.
  • Gathering and analyzing information and evidence through interviews, documents review, and data analysis.
  • Making preliminary recommendations on addressing regulatory violations, misconduct, fraud, or other serious matters.
  • Inquiring into potential breaches of law, regulations and policies, mismanagement, and misuse of funds.
  • Reporting investigation findings and status to senior management and governance bodies.
  • Ensuring proper treatment and anonymity for both case reporters and investigation subjects.
  • Managing investigations holistically, factoring in legal, HR, financial and reputational risks.
  • Liaising with key internal stakeholders in Accountability, Security, Legal, HR, and Finance.

    In addition, you will have opportunities to contribute more broadly to the Internal Audit unit’s risk assessment and control assurance objectives and participate in initiatives and engagements assigned by the Head of Internal Audit, including quality reviews of DCA’s complaint handling protocols and providing case-specific advice.
    We seek an individual passionate about driving organizational accountability through expert investigation skills, sound judgment, and an ability to navigate complex dynamics with integrity.

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree, preferably in law or related field
  • Strong knowledge of the EU Whistleblower Protection Directive and the Danish Whistleblower Act
  • Understanding of other relevant legal and ethical frameworks such as GDPR, HR policies, codes of conduct, Core Humanitarian Standards etc.
  • Experience leading investigations and producing investigative reports.

    The ideal candidate has a structured and methodical approach to their work. You exercise good judgement when handling sensitive cases, demonstrate empathy and objectivity, and maintain discretion at all times – even during difficult conversations with colleagues. Direct whistleblower investigation and reporting experience is advantageous. Both professional expertise and life experience enable you to excel in this role. You must also be willing to travel internationally to DCA locations.
