Service Operations Supply Chain & Repair Global Repair Operation

Service Supply Chain is part of Vestas' growing and dynamic Service Business Unit. Within Global Supply Chain we support the Vestas organization by securing timely availability and reliability on delivery of spare parts towards our service technicians and our end customers.

In our Supply Chain Operations, we are looking for a Manager to lead the supply chain operations, including warehouse operations in Denmark and Germany, transport operations and operational buying. You will join an international team, which is constantly striving for improvements and promoting a reliable and customer-oriented business.

Responsibilities
As Senior Warehouse Manager, your main responsibility will be to manage the two main warehouses located in Denmark and Germany, including the operational buying towards the warehouses.
The role will cover a newly established function to improve and optimise the transport operations within the Service Supply Chain. Also, your responsibility will be to align performance among the other service warehouses, located in Asia, America and Latam, benchmarking the performance and KPIs. Other responsibilities will be:

  • Lead a team of approx. 100 internal employees and 100 employees through external 3rd Party Logistics (3PL)
  • Supervise daily operations, while controlling and handling inventory and logistics – and maintain a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with legal regulations
  • Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal
  • Ensure high performing warehouses; on-time execution of goods receipt, planning and execution of Pick Pack and on-time execution of goods issues
  • Timely coordination/synchronisation of Customs Green Lighting and shipment/transport creation and booking
  • Ensure that the operational purchasing team (10 employees) are performing well and get deliveries from suppliers on time to the warehouses
  • Develop a newly established function on transport optimisation, looking for cost out opportunities, smoothing the customs clearance and measuring the performance of Logistics Service Providers
  • Benchmark across and development plans for each “inventory region warehouses”

Qualifications

  • Relevant educational background and minimum of 5 years of experience from a similar role in a large international company, working closely with stakeholders in a service organisation
  • Experience from a leading role within warehousing, logistics or supply chain activities
  • Solid IT capabilities and knowledge of Supply Chain Planning and ERP systems
  • Experience from working in a global matrix organisation, collaborating across borders with a positive and open mind-set (working with different cultures and across time zones)
  • Great communication skills and fluency in English, both verbally and in writing

  • Proven leadership skills and good at stakeholder management
  • A can-do attitude, always aiming at getting things done in time
  • A structured and analytical approach to your work, a good overview and the ability to coordinate optimisation and changes (e.g. data modelling)
  • A flexible approach to your work and can handle many tasks at the same time in a progressive environment

Your work location will be Randers, Denmark.

Approximately up to 30 days of travelling per year is to be expected.
