Director, Head of Group PMO

Would you like to play a pivotal role in accelerating a future leader in the green transition, help set the direction of the company and drive execution and delivery on European Energy’s highest-priority objectives to continue our rapid growth journey?

We are looking for an experienced candidate with 10+ years of experience to take the role of Director, Head of Group Project Management Office (PMO) with the aim to build a team and lead a best-in-class PMO as part of our Group Strategy team at European Energy.

Our new PMO will oversee, prioritize and manage the largest and most complex programs and projects across the business, and take a leading role in shaping and implementing our strategy, redesigning and mobilizing our future operating model, taking part in M&A and driving post-merger integrations, and supporting our sustainability agenda.

The team

The Group Strategy team is an international and engaged group of 18 people with diverse backgrounds ranging from top-tier consultancies to environmental management and ESG. We are divided into two core pillars: Strategy and ESG. The Group Project Management Office will be our third pillar with its own team, working closely together with Group Strategy and Group ESG.

Overall, our team is responsible for shaping and executing the strategic agenda, leading M&A processes, setting our ambitious direction for sustainability, and building, implementing and maintaining a best-in-class future operating model. Our team reports directly to the company CEO, and you will be reporting to the Vice President, Head of Group Strategy and ESG.

How you will create impact

We offer an opportunity to take on a senior leadership role in the renewables sector with great responsibility and tangible impact on the global challenges of climate change. You will specifically take on responsibilities such as:

  • Shape, build and drive an organizational-wide project management office to oversee and prioritize projects centrally
  • Reshape European Energy as a professional corporate by defining, implementing and maintaining a best-in-class future operating model
  • Manage and support Project Managers throughout the organization to deliver on strategic initiatives and workstreams as part of our new strategy
  • Lead and execute large-scale strategic projects and programs
  • Keep track of overall company performance and progression on strategic initiatives, communicate to senior management and define necessary actions to course-correct if needed
  • Support M&A processes and lead post-merger integration

What we look for

We seek an experienced, team-oriented individual with strong analytical and leadership capabilities, as you will be working in a high-paced and multidisciplinary environment. You find it motivating navigating in complex stakeholder landscapes and you would like to drive change and tackle some of the biggest issues of our time in a changing energy industry.

The ideal candidate will have a background that includes some of the following elements:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering or similar
  • A large appetite to take on or continue team leadership for a team of talented colleagues
  • Several years of continuous project- or program management experience with large, complex and global corporate projects, transformations or post-merger integrations – preferably from a global PMO and at a senior level
  • Experience in performance management, monitoring, and reporting to senior management
  • A strong and empathetic team player attitude with great people skills and capabilities within change management
