About the position
We are looking for strong backend developers with experience in developing backend solutions, preferably with a bioinformatic focus. You will be part of a dedicated team, who builds a robust backend solution for our high performance cluster.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with:
- strong competence on Python 3
- extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux systems
- working knowledge of Bash scripting.
- experience with a compiled, low level language (C / C++ / Rust)
- experience interacting with database systems, relational (PostgreSQL / MySQL) or otherwise
- knowledge about large-scale data platforms (Hadoop, Spark, etc.)
- experience working with high performance computing clusters and automating them
- experience developing reproducible data analysis pipelines using a workflow management system
- knowledge of next generation sequencing analysis.
Absolutely necessary qualifications, is to:
- use git or other distributed version control systems
- write tests against your own code
- document and comment your code sensibly
- communicate effectively within teams and work independently when needed
- be driven to stay on top of the relevant technical and scientific developments.
It would be a plus if you:
- have contributed to open source projects. Feel free to show us your pull request, code repositories or even packages you have released publicly
- have experience developing in other programming languages we have not mentioned. We would love to hear your experience using Go, Scala, JavaScript, Haskell or any other languages
- are familiar with cloud systems (OpenShift / AWS) and DevOps tools (Docker, Ansible / Chef / Puppet).

Salary and appointment terms
Depending on your educational background salary and appointment terms will be based on either:
- the collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Federation of Professional Associations (AC) (overenskomst for akademikere i staten) Depending on your academic qualifications and experience there is a possibility of being classified as a special or senior consultant according to appendix 4 (protocol concerning special- and senior consultants).

- the organizational agreement between The Danish Finance Ministry and the Organisation for Salaried Employees HK/Stat (Organisationsaftale for kontorfunktionærer, laboranter og it-medarbejdere (HK)), according to chapter 5 in the agreement and the collective agreement between The Danish Finance Ministry and the Organisation of Public Employees (OAO-S-Fællesoverenskomsten).
