The Danish Institute for Advanced Study (DIAS) and the Department of Molecular Medicine seek an outstanding candidate to fill a position as Assistant Professor in the field of Molecular Neurobiology.
The position is a joint position at DIAS and the Department of Molecular Medicine (IMM) at the University of Southern Denmark. The position starts August 1, 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The successful candidate must have an international profile and a strong record of research publication and a strong funding CV, as well as novel ideas, demonstrating a clear potential to excel in scientific research at a very high level. The appointment is a unique position for the highly ambitious “rising star” that is looking for a long-term position in a very strong interdisciplinary environment, permitting the candidate to pursue ideas with groundbreaking potential. The position runs for four years followed by the possibility for a subsequent two years of employment as an Associate Professor.
DIAS
DIAS aims to inspire groundbreaking ideas through the meeting of minds across the sciences and humanities. There is a strong focus on talent development of young researchers who work on game changing ideas. So far, 19 DIAS Fellows from five faculties are gathered here, and the applicant will become one of them. Thus, DIAS offers an interdisciplinary research environment, where you will interact with the strongest researchers from the five faculties at University of Southern Denmark. Furthermore, DIAS offer substantial support in applications for external funding from prestigious national and European funding schemes, e.g., Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions and ERC starting grants.
More information about DIAS activities can be found at www.danish-ias.dk.
We expect the applicant to actively engage in the development of the research unit as well as contribute positively to D-IAS as a whole.
