About the department
The Region Europe office is based in Ørestad, Copenhagen and counts approx. 60 employees with nationalities from across the world. The Medical & Scientific Affairs Department is part of CMR and consist of five people looking after Medical Affairs and Medical & Science activities. The entire Clinical Medical Research Organisation across Region Europe counts approx. 800 people. The Medical & Scientific Affairs Manager will report to the VP of Medical & Scientific Affairs.

The position
The Medical & Scientific Affairs Manager will be working in a very challenging and complex environment, an environment of constant change, increased complexity and fierce competition. Novo Nordisk is currently pursuing new treatment areas within chronic disease like NASH, CVD and CKD. At the same time Novo Nordisk is launching more products than ever before within diabetes and obesity. Finally, Novo Nordisk is looking to expanding its business into primary care and cardiology.

All these activities will inevitable generate interactions with many new stakeholders and a need to embrace and understand new science and innovations. Medical & Scientific Affairs will play a key role in providing medical guidance and clarity to CMR / Medical Affairs in the affiliates.

Furthermore, the Medical & Scientific Affairs Manager must coordinate and align strategies and projects with several internal stakeholders in the matrix organisation (IO-SO, Global and affiliates/BAs). There is a strong aspect of complex stakeholder management and alignment of views, activities, practices and responsibilities.

Qualifications
You are expected to have:

A degree as Medical Doctor or substantial similar, Clinical Development/R&D or Medical Affairs, experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Experience from working in the diabetes or cardiovascular/metabolic therapeutic areas is considered a plus but experience from other therapeutic areas, e.g. oncology or immunology, will also be very relevant.

Experience in study development and operational management of clinical trials and/or non-interventional studies, protocol development and ability to interact authoritatively with key internal stakeholders.Excellent command in English, both spoken and written. Also, ability and willingness to work across geographic and cultural boundaries is expected. Strong communicative and leadership skills including the ability drive and get people inspired around and ambitious vision positive can-do attitude combined with a strategic mind-set. An ability to travel approx. 20% of time.
