Senior HW Platform Architect within Hardware Solution & Architecture team

You will be defining our future products
In the role as HW Platform Architect within the R&D Hardware, Solutions & Architecture team you will work with state-of-the-art technologies for hearing instruments and play a key role defining our future hardware platforms and products in close cooperation with the departments Area Product owners and platform architects and with specialists and stakeholders within other departments in Demant R&D.
We expect that you utilize your strong technical knowledge and innovative mindset to ensure competitive evolution of our hardware platforms and constantly challenge our way of working in order to enable higher launch cadence and predictability. Furthermore, some of your key deliveries will be to:
- Define technology evolutions of platform architectures in accordance with agreed roadmaps and business needs
- Ensure technology being included in platforms has the necessary maturity level and provides the required interoperability
- Assess feasibility of new technologies and components prior for being included in platforms
- Communicate agreed platform architectures to relevant stakeholders and ensure they are realized during the platform development project
- Solve architectural issues when appearing during platform development and update architectures accordingly
- Ensure necessary reuse of elements across platforms
- Execute tradeoff studies
You will report to the Senior Director of Hardware Solutions & Architecture in R&D Hardware and become part of a team comprising experienced and dedicated Platform Architects and Senior Area Product Owners.
Your background
We expect that you come with a relevant educational background on either B.Sc. or M.Sc. level, and several years of experience developing medical devices for a regulated industry. Strong knowledge on FDA, MDD and MDR is an advantage to succeed in this role.
You have for many years defined HW architectures for highly constrained devices and demonstrated your ability to make tradeoff studies and take the right architectural and technology decisions to meet business needs.
You have a strong electro-acoustical background combined with a deep knowledge within the mechanics and electronics disciplines. Your holistic view combined with the ability to dive into details, when necessary, enable you to challenge developers and stakeholders identifying the optimal solutions. We imagine that you have an intrinsic motivation for the latest industry development in terms of Architecture, and you leverage from professional networks to foster innovation.
You are a team player but also able to work on your own and stand up for your ideas when you know you are right. You are a good communicator and excellent at driving architectural initiatives and provide progress and results in an organization constrained by resources.
