Director for Business Controlling & Strategic Finance – Milestone Systems

Then this role offers you both professional challenges and personal development in a role, where you are responsible for management and business reporting to the Canon Group and the Executive and Operational Management teams in Milestone Systems.
The role of Director for Business Controlling & Strategic Finance is a replacement in connection with the promotion of the former Director to a VP Group Finance role to whom you also report. There is also close collaboration with and support to the CFO, Business Management, Executive Leadership Team, and the Canon Group. The role works out of Milestone Systems’ HQ just outside Copenhagen.
Best-in-Class Finance Business Support to realize Growth Ambitions
To truly understand how ambitious Milestone Systems are about their Financial Business Support, it is important to stress that the entire framework around Finance Business Partners has been redefined. The “new normal” means that Finance has become an integral part of various business initiatives and projects that support business needs, and it is executed through 12 experienced finance specialists.
In addition to the responsibility for budgeting and forecasting, the role is a strong driver in rethinking business finance processes and forecasting excellence. To be successful, the role helps to scale the Finance Business Partnering framework as well as modelling tools and templates to ensure timely deliveries. Key responsibilities and deliveries include:
- Periodic reporting of monthly management reporting, forecasting, and budgeting reports.
- Drive the planning cycle and budgeting processes including working with the operational management teams and identifying best practices and making it available between the functions.
- Develop and maintain the target setting model together with the CFO, VP Group Finance, and the Executive Leadership Team.
- Drive the Group’s forecasting process and engage with the operational business owners.
- Lead and develop a strong team of Finance Business Partners and Controllers.
- Continue to improve the business partnering agenda to provide a balanced service to key stakeholders.
- Responsible for reporting to Canon on monthly and quarterly budgets and forecasts as well as impairment tests and eventual inquiries from Canon Inc.
Business Finance Professional with a strong Focus on Leadership and Innovation
We are looking for you, who combines your professional skills with excellent people skills. You are motivating and inspirational in your communication and actions, and it is natural for you to interact with and establish relations with stakeholders across all levels in an organization. In your people management and interaction with others, you present yourself as authentic, empathetic, collaborative, and where you give something of yourself. In your work, you balance a strategic and tactical mindset with strong organizing skills, with the ability to set priorities, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information, and activities.
To succeed in the role, we expect you to combine a master’s degree in Finance or Auditing with strong professional experience from a corresponding position in an international Group on either Corporate or Regional level. Your professional qualifications include:
- Minimum 6-8 years of working experience in Business Finance from an international organization.
- Most likely, a background in Auditing followed by a People Manager role in Business Finance (FP&A) from IT/Tech or similar experience from a listed company.
- Substantial management experience leading teams of highly competent employees with academic degrees.
- Familiar with IFRS accounting and reporting requirements (without being hands-on or an expert), and with a deep understanding of financial modelling and BI.
- Solid presentation skills and experience.
- Very experienced in IT, and a MS Office super-user (Excel and PowerPoint).
- Fluent in English (orally and in writing).
About Controlling & Strategic Finance
The Controlling & Strategic Finance team is responsible for creating synergies by combining strategic finance projects with controlling. The team works with controlling and support of sales companies, R&D, software development mainly using BI and Navision. 12 dedicated finance professionals work with supporting Milestone Systems in realizing their business ambitions.
The mission statement in Group Finance is to be respected for delivering financial transparency, reliable numbers, and strong communication. They aim to create and maintain relationships of trust with all key stakeholders to achieve an optimized financial and operational management of Milestone Systems Group within Canon Group. They also endeavour to be a valuable partner to executive management by providing in-depth analysis and decision support. In total, Group Finance comprises 30 professionals.
