Power Solutions Applications, Controls & Electrical Grid & BoP Integration
Grid and BoP (balance of plants) Integration is a part of Power Solutions, which is where new product ideas and technologies are developed, matured, tested, and improved. To put it in short, Vestas Power Solutions is the cornerstone of Vestas - we are shaping the future of modern energy.
As a Power2X Specialist within the electrical balance of plants (eBoP) integration area, you will be a part of a highly skilled team, with focus on main hybrid electrical components such as PV, BESS and Power2X solutions for Vestas Hybrid Power Plants. We have team members with both senior expertise from transmission system operators, highly skilled academia- and long industry background. Our teams are working out of both Denmark and Porto. Responsibilities
You will be part of building our new team within eBoP Integration. As a part of this you will the technical go-to person on Power2X in our area and as such be accountable for the quality of Power2X deliveries from our area and work closely with the senior specialist to do the right scoping of new activities and ensure a strong technical roadmap for the area with specific focus on how we integrate and industrialize our plant level Power2X offerings.

This position requires approximately 10 days of travel a year.

Responsibilities
You will be part of building our new team within eBoP Integration. As a part of this you will the technical go-to person on Power2X in our area and as such be accountable for the quality of Power2X deliveries from our area and work closely with the senior specialist to do the right scoping of new activities and ensure a strong technical roadmap for the area with specific focus on how we integrate and industrialize our plant level Power2X offerings.
You will also do the following:
- Apply customer perspectives from other industries in order to conceptualise the integration of Power2X solutions
- Participate in cross functional teams within Vestas to develop the most optimal integration of Power2X power plant designs
- Technical vendor dialogs with relevant companies in the industry and take part in qualification of Power2X vendor components
Qualifications
- Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Power Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar from an accredited university
- Proven experience in designing electrical layout of Power2X plants
- Experience in planning or designing of eBoP systems for renewable power plants is desirable
- Knowledge of Power2X plant processes and operation is desirable
- It is desirable if you have proven experience with:
- Inverter technologies for Power2X power supply and Hydrogen electrolysers
- Understand the full value chain of green hydrogen process from initial concept and operational philosophy to EPC type projects
- Industrial process knowledge (chemical, electrical, heavy industry, cement, heavy transport, steel, ammonia etc)
- Understand complex power system issues and phenomena
