Finance Business Partner, Managed by Maersk Operations

You will join Operations finance, where you get to play an instrumental role in understanding the cost base and ensuring we are operating efficiently across the Managed by Maersk product portfolio in Logistics & Services.

Opportunity

The service model Managed by Maersk (MbM) caters for customers who have chosen to outsource all or part of their supply chain.

In Managed by Maersk Operations Finance, we are now looking for a top analytical mind to develop a deep understanding of the MbM cost base, how it can be optimized and how productivity targets can be challenged. To be a successful candidate you are comfortable with not always having all information readily available and you therefore enjoy exploring solutions and being creative in how to deliver valuable insights to business stakeholders.

Further, the opportunity offers you large exposure towards the organization, including senior-, regional- and product management and requires strong communication and stakeholder skills. You are therefore expected to develop a strong business acumen and are, apart from creating visibility and insights, also expected to challenge business stakeholders and drive change to optimize the business.

You will join the Operations Finance team based in Copenhagen and report into Head of Finance, Managed by Maersk Operations. The team is currently being established, which presents you with a great opportunity to influence the ways of working. To thrive, you are a motivated self-starter who is expected to be able to work independently, with sparring and support from your manager.

The role mainly focuses on variable cost (e.g. cost towards warehouses) and fixed cost (e.g. FTE cost). Stepping into it, you will become part of a journey to establish a foundation and solid understanding of the cost lines and how analysis can be taken to the next level.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality finance partnering to the Managed by Maersk product organization

  • Establish understanding of Variable cost base and conduct analysis to understand underlying drivers and how to optimize the cost line

  • Drive FTE and productivity analysis, with focus on optimizing cost allocations

  • Conduct month-end and quarter reporting activities

  • Lead the budget process consolidation and taking ownership of the numbers


What are we looking for

You have a Master’s degree in finance or economics combined with a few years of relevant work experience. Further:

  • You are a passionate and solution-oriented finance professional

  • You are a self-starter and strong team-player

  • You have a keen interest in understanding the business

  • You have experience with financial analysis and an analytical mindset

  • You possess good communication and presentation skills (English)

  • You are proficient in Excel and PowerPoint (BI systems is a plus, but not required)

  • You thrive in an international, dynamic, and fast paced project environment where you keep the financial overview
