We are looking to strengthen our Risk Management team in Copenhagen, as Saxo Bank is continuing to grow its global footprint. Would you like to be part of that?

If yes, then you are perhaps the colleague we are looking for, to join our small global model risk management team. We are expanding our operational and conceptual influence concerning a very wide spectrum of tasks with a major focus on automation and reactive model telemetry & management.

The team has been established 2017, reports directly into the CRO, and is organically connected to all relevant business units: trading, risk-management, finance, treasury, information technology and client experience.

Your Responsibilities


  • Development (concept, implementation, integration) of Saxo Banks (MrM in-house developed) interactive, central, corporate Modell-Product and Process repository – major focus: automation and multi connectivity (simulation becomes reality).
  • Improving and maintaining of Saxo Banks model risk and governance framework (including all elements related to Algo-trading).
  • Operating within Saxo Banks Modell risk and governance framework: from determination of model uncertainty reserves via support of business/model owners to performance of various Modell committee gatherings.
  • Orchestration and performance of in dept model risk assessments for models and model components being used in the context of algo-trading (MIFID27RTS6).
  • Design and implementation of coherent and operational meaningful/relevant, monetizable as well as composable model risk measure.

Your Qualifications


  • PhD or master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, theoretical physics, logic, linguistics, semiotics, mechanical engineering, jurisprudence or other areas close to formalization of modelling and languages.
  • Experience in formalization, abstraction and structuring of problems and formal reasoning.
  • Pre-knowledge in applied category theory, differential geometry and formal methods of model-checking would be a plus.
  • Basic understanding of the purpose and mechanics of primary financial instruments.

Group, Finance & Risk Operations (GFR) within Saxo Bank


The Group Finance & Risk Operations division is responsible for the corporate functions in the value chain within Saxo Bank; Finance, Risk, Legal, Compliance and Treasury.

Some of the key responsibilities for the division include:

  • Servicing the different parts of the organisation in reaching their respective business goals
  • Controlling cost and generating higher and more stable revenue, leading to an improved EBIT margin
  • Managing capital cost and regulation efficiently to generate an improved return on Equity
  • Ensuring the Bank is in compliance with regulation and implementing proper risk control at all times as well as minimizing business risk on all aspects
  • Providing solid and reliable tracking of customer activities
  • Tracking, analysing and reporting on the Saxo Experience though a systematic and lean approach
