Customer Insight Analyst turns data into actionable insights using tools and models from statistics, AI and Machine Learning to enable better decision making.
They collaborate with stakeholders to translate a business problem to a mathematical problem that can be solved using data and analytics. They gather, analyze, combine and aggregate the data sources required to solve the problem, then develop the appropriate solution and communicate its possibilities and limitations. They are responsible for the quality of the solution, for example prediction accuracy.
Understands the different aspects of the end-to-end model life cycle (problem formulation, exploration, development, testing, deployment and monitoring).
Key Responsibilities
You will form part of a growing team that is driving the data insight agenda, aiming to change the way that Sales and Marketing and the broader organization think about, engage with, and utilize the insights that can be generated from customers’ descriptive and behavioral data.
You will be responsible for identifying and wrangling customer-centric data from centralized and distributed systems to create actionable insights, in response to direct queries from the business or in support of the proactive CI data agenda. Findings will need to be communicated to both technical and non-technical audiences, and therefore you should have the ability to tailor communication to suit the situation.
The analytical challenges you will face will be truly diverse, ranging from development and maintenance of customer segmentation models, to understanding customer journeys on our platforms, to sourcing new data in collaboration with our Technology team – all with the goal of helping Maersk and clients to derive value from customer-centric solutions. Given the wide remit of the Customer Insight team, you will be able to draw on a variety of inputs to provide needed context and help to prioritize your own activities.
As part of a team that is growing quickly, you will help to establish best practice in terms of code management, creation of reusable analytical data layers and implementation of analytical techniques, and you will help to upskill other colleagues in your area of expertise.
What are we looking for
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role
- Strong hands-on experience on data analytics, segmentation models, advanced analytics including ML
- Data visualization knowledge (Power BI preferred tool)
- Be familiar working with structured and semi-structed data
- Demonstrable experience of creating structured analyses and crafting actionable insights from data, preferably from within a B2B environment
- Have good verbal and written communication skills, with experience of communicating insights via Excel and PowerPoint to peers and more senior stakeholders
- Experience of using visualization and reporting software such as Power BI to present insights visually would be a bonus
- You must be comfortable working on individual and shared objectives as part of a geographically distributed team
- You will be prepared to contribute toward creating a high-performing, collaborative, and supportive team environment
- Deal with complex, challenging problems requiring analytical thinking
- Strong ability to present and enlighten others about your findings, at the top and bottom of the organization
- Understanding of customer segmentation data driven techniques
- Commercial awareness and business orientation
- Exposure to marketing communication principals
