The position offers you a unique opportunity to be a strong driver of projects with external partners, which will significantly impact digitalisation of Novo Nordisk Research & Early Development (R&ED).
About the area
Digital & Research Intelligence (DRI) is a new area, which is dedicated to develop and drive external collaborations and ensure access to emerging technologies relevant for the digital transformation of R&ED. DRI provides a modern Scientific Intelligence unit to ensure access to external and internal scientific data and information, will establish operations to facilitate maturation of new ideas and develop an educational framework to drive the digital journey of early research.
Digital & Research Intelligence is part of Digital Science & Innovation (DSI), which was recently established to drive digitalisation across Research & Early Development (R&ED). DSI participates in drug development projects across the value chain, from early discovery to pre-clinical development.
About the Position
You will serve as main driver of programs between NN R&ED internal project members and commercial or academic partners in the digital space of drug development, which provides early research with state of the art advanced technologies, essential scientific data or novel approaches. Areas of interest are broad and covers areas such as AI/machine learning, IoT for research labs, access to big data or technology platforms for data & information sharing. You will ensure on-time deliveries of project outputs, maintain programme plans and be essential in bridging between external and internal resources and scientific expertise. You will follow and engage in new developments in the digital space and be the internal advocate for new relevant partnerships.

The ideal candidates have an excellent track record within digital aspects of drug discovery. The candidates can understand and bridge new technologies (e.g. AI/ML) to complement the needs of our internal research priorities, can handle complexity in cross-organisational collaborations in a highly dynamic research environment, are able to multitask and have a high energy level and a positive attitude.

Key responsibilities:
- Primary driver of projects with external partners (e.g. start-up companies, tech companies, CRO’s or KOL/academic partners) in the digital space of R&ED
- Optimise resourcing and outsourcing activities
- Supervise projects to have the best possible strategic fit and relevance to internal initiatives in the digital space
- Lead key decision making and manage critical path activities and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
- Organize and lead project teams successfully
- Guide monitoring of market landscape to identify new potential collaboration/innovation opportunities in close interaction with our scientists, sourcing groups and scientific intelligence unit
- Conducts a close collaboration with our internal scientists, Global IT organisation, sourcing teams and alliance management
Qualifications
- Preferably a PhD degree in computational science, data science or biopharma related disciplines
- Proven years of external collaboration manager, project manager or line manager experience
- +7 years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry with specific proven experience in collaboration with external partners in the digital space of drug discovery
- Good IT understanding, knowledge and demonstrated technical skills
- Interpersonal skills required to develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders internally and externally
- Excellent team player, which takes initiative, is self-driven and solves problems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills are required
- Ability to travel regionally (up to 20%)
