As Centre for Functional Assays & Screening (CFAS) is expanding into new therapeutic areas, efficient predictive in vitro screening tools are needed to facilitate medium and high throughput screening of peptides, proteins, therapeutic antibodies, and novel RNAi based concepts.
In your daily work, you will collaborate closely with department scientists and technicians to plan in vitro biological experiments. Your primary tasks will include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and optimize tailormade cellular in vitro assays.
  • Maintain and engineer mammalian cell cultures.
  • Plan and conduct experiments including screening cycles with attention to details.
  • Perform data analysis and keep records of experimental work.
  • Take part in experimental troubleshooting and suggest continuous improvements of daily workflows in the department.
  • Qualifications
    To be considered for this position you have:
  • A relevant education as a laboratory technician or equivalent.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with development and execution of in vitro biological assays e.g. reporter gene assays, receptor binding, ELISA, flow cytometry, enzymatic assays, and qPCR.
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture and molecular biology techniques.
  • Experience and flair for liquid handlers e.g., Biomek or Hamilton and development of automated assays and workflows.
  • Proficiency in English communication, both verbally and in writing.

  • Research experience from the pharmaceutical industry is considered as an advantage but is not a requirement.

You possess good communication skills and enjoy working in teams to share knowledge and are willing to offer support and seek out help. About the Department
    The Centre for Functional Assays & Screening is part of Global Research Technologies at Novo Nordisk located in Maaloev in the Copenhagen area of Denmark.
    We specialise in the design and execution of a variety of medium- and high-throughput screening assays with relevant biological read-outs and with a strong focus on automation and digitalisation. We deliver high-quality in vitro data to support the identification of drug candidates with desired functionalities in close collaboration with other parts of the research organization.
    CFAS consists of three sub-departments and comprises a total of 15 scientists, three associate scientists, 13 technicians as well as two students. You will be part of a high-performing, multidisciplinary team exploring and identifying new treatment options for diabetes, obesity, NASH, cardiovascular and kidney disease, haemophilia, and other rare blood and endocrine disorders.
