The position is anchored in the Heart Biology department that is part of Cardiorenal Research within Global Drug Discovery, Novo Nordisk A/S. As part of Novo Nordisk’s strategy within chronic metabolic diseases, we are focusing on target identification, target validation, and pre-clinical characterization of new assets intended to become novel treatment options for patients living with cardiometabolic diseases. In close collaboration with our colleagues, we are working in an organ-centric and disease agnostic manner to develop, characterize, and utilize in vitro tools to elucidate mode-of-action and profiling of novel biology and molecules for early evaluation of drug candidates. In this role, you will work closely with Scientist and Technician Your key responsibility will be to develop, optimize, and perform cell culture experiments and related downstream assays to elucidate relevant disease mechanisms and characterize potential drug candidates. You can expect your daily work tasks to include: Coordinate with Scientist and Technician to plan experimental activities. Handle cell culture work (primary cells and stem-cell derived cardiomyocyte) including stem cell differentiation and primary cells transfection. Isolate RNA from cells, run real-time PCR and perform cellular assays (mostly imaging-based) Troubleshoot experimental issues. Collect and analyzed data. Qualifications
In order to qualify for this role, we expect that: You have an education as a Laboratory Technician or similar. You have a strong experimental background in sterile mammalian cell culture work. You are fluent in English, both written and verbally. You have excellent laboratory skills and ability to conduct high quality in vitro experiments. It is considered an advantage if you have experience in one or more of the following areas: Experience with establishing and validating cellular assays with functional readouts including cellular proliferation, fibrosis, and apoptosis. Worked with methods such as reporter-gene assays, ELISA, real-time PCR, cell transfection, immunostaining, and high-content imaging. Previous experience with cardiac related in vitro assays, stem cell differentiation and lab automation system. On a personal level you are dedicated, proactive, well-organized, and responsible. You are a collaborative team player who can operate in a dynamic environment with multiple concurrent tasks.
