Odense
Nature Energy is the largest biomethane producer in Europe with 14 plants in operation and an annual production of more than 180mm3 of biomethane. The global demand for green gas is historically high and will continue to grow many years into the future. Our purpose is to turn organic waste into value, thereby producing green gas, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and supporting sustainable food production. As Business Developer for the Nordics, you will have significant responsibility for accelerating the company’s growth in our core market.
Area of responsibilities and tasks
In cooperation with the organization, you will be responsible for end-to-end project development within the biogas area towards both public and private customers, partners, and stakeholders. The BD team has full responsibility for the full project cycle, from origination to the final investment decision. This includes tasks like investigating project potential, evaluating the political, environmental, and agricultural interests, and analyzing and developing future biogas plants in specific geographical areas.
We are currently a team of 16 people working on our European pipeline. You will be part of the Nordic development team of currently 4 highly skilled business developers. As we expect to expand into more countries shortly, exposure to international markets is also an opportunity.
Other tasks and responsibilities include:
Project identification:
- Examine and prioritize project opportunities
- Examine and identify ideal locations, partners, and opportunities
- Prepare business case and decision papers
Project development
- Calculate risk, biomass, and key figures together with finance colleagues and other specialists within Nature Energy
- Identify important stakeholders such as partners, politicians, trade associations, and other local key stakeholders
- Establish and maintain professional and long-term relations with stakeholders
- Authority cooperation
- Key Account responsibility for major cooperation partners such as industrial partners
- Handling challenges through the whole project development process in cooperation with your colleagues and our specialists e.g. construction, Farming Relations, Biology, etc.
- When a successful Final Investment Decision, FID, is made, the project is handed over to the construction department
Your workplace will be at our headquarter in Odense, Århus, and/or Copenhagen, where you will report to Oliver V. Nielsen, Head of Nordics, and New Market Implementation. You will work closely with the BD team and other internal and external stakeholders.
Your Profile
We are looking for a dedicated profile with several years of experience with project development, preferably within infrastructure and/or renewable energy. Also, you should hold great project management skills, experience with negotiating, and experience with cooperating with multiple stakeholders. You communicate well with colleagues and stakeholders across functions and areas of expertise.
As a person, you possess good interpersonal skills and maintain good relations. You have an eye for sensing the political environment and can manage the unpredictability of various agendas and interests.
You are driven, structured and detailed oriented and you have a great understanding of business cases and financial models. You enjoy working with complex issues and are always able to facilitate structured discussions and solutions. The development process can be long, and you are by nature persistent and proactive.
You are fluent in both written and verbal Danish and English.
