About the Department In the Development area, we are responsible for managing clinical drug development worldwide, ensuring that the process lives up to uniform global standards, regulations and business ethics while delivering viable products that make a significant difference to patients with serious chronic diseases, and ultimately benefit society. Data Management Processes & Innovation (DMPI) Department is a part of the wider Novo Nordisk Data Science organisation and consists of 15 enthusiastic and highly engaged people with in-depth knowledge across Data Management processes and regulations, automation, visualization, and digitalization tools. Within DMPI, we have three specialists, one Data Science graduate and two scientific student assistants all focusing on automation and digitalization. They will be among your closest colleagues on a day-to-day basis. Our department is responsible for driving innovation and automation across multiple projects, and ensuring our processes are efficient and compliant. We work across systems, automation projects, process improvements, change management and competency development to efficiently support the entire Data Management community. The Data Management organisation currently covers approx. 375 skilled colleagues in the USA, India, Spain, and Denmark. The position Data Management Process & Innovation is responsible for proactively identifying development areas and building innovative solutions to meet the current and future needs of Novo Nordisk in an evolving regulatory landscape. The key objective is to strive towards a sustainable and efficient operating business model using new methodologies and techniques in smart ways to help colleagues in the operational part of data management. The focus will be on optimization and efficiency gains across the data science value chain. As Data Management Automation Specialist, we expect you to be: Leading and developing automation initiatives that will deliver real gains across Data Management A bridge-builder to key stakeholders, and that you will work smoothly across organisational levels from senior management to end-users of the initiative you are driving Proactive in identifying new and unforeseen automation opportunities and driving these to their ultimate potential The position will be part of the cross-functional Data Science Automation Group which consist of nine automation specialists across Data Management, Biostatistics, and IT. This group leads the development of automation across Data Science, in alignment with the overall digitalization strategy of Novo Nordisk. As Data Management Automation Specialist, we expect you to discover, drive, develop and deliver the innovation initiatives that will transform Data Management. We expect you to apply your expertise in identifying best-fit technical solutions for the opportunities presented in our initiatives. You will be a bridge-builder to key innovation hubs across our business functions and keep us abreast of innovations from our partners, peers, and the wider industry that could benefit our processes and initiatives. You will drive our exposure and adoption of new technologies that are made available to DM and accelerate grass-root innovation in our functions through active knowledge sharing and collaboration with ongoing initiatives in Data Management. Qualifications University degree (MSc/PhD) within Natural sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, IT or other relevant fields Experience that demonstrates abstract reasoning skills, and the ability to evaluate diverse technological capabilities and apply them to improving processes Work experience or formal training in one or more innovation management methodologies An understanding of the requirements of developing IT micro-solutions and SaaS in a GxP-regulated environment Basic knowledge in working in an environment using Agile methodology It will be an advantage if you have hands-on experience with AI/ML and their application to solving real-world process challenges as we expect artificial intelligence and machine learning to play a key role in the future of data management processes. Aptitude for programming and preferably experience in development of automation solutions using Python, R, R-Shiny, C# or other common programming languages. Experience with RPA tools (UiPath, Leapwork, Power Automate) would be a bonus but is not essential. It will be a strong advantage if you have hands-on experience from large scale digital innovation projects. Fluency in oral and written English is essential. On a personal level, you are a team-oriented driver, who enjoys working both laterally and horizontally and across multiple disciplines. You are eager to see things moving forward and possess the drive to make things happen which has a positive and motivating effect on your stakeholders and team members.
