The position The Project Director reports to the Project Vice President who is heading up the department Rare Blood Disorders in the area of Rare Disease & Advanced Therapies, Clinical Drug Development. In this role, you will:
  • Chair the GPT for allocated projects.
  • Be responsible for planning and execution of initiatives to identify, evaluate, drive, and communicate on project activities.
  • Work in close collaboration with the GPT representing the full value chain of pharmaceutical product development.
  • Do project management of development projects throughout the life-cycle as well as cross-therapy area projects / portfolio projects and activities.
  • Tracking and reporting progress on the project activities to the GPT and to governance bodies in collaboration with the PVP/PoVP.
  • The job holds ample opportunities for personal development and your interactions with multiple skills areas involved in life-cycle management provides a unique learning opportunity. You can expect regular international traveling. Qualifications To thrive and succeed you have:
  • Master’s degree in Science, Business, or a Technical field, preferably complemented with a Ph.D.
  • 7-10 years of experience in pharmaceutical development with thorough value chain understanding acquired from positions within the R&D, including 2+ years of project/ managerial responsibility.
  • Successful project management experience from leading cross-functional projects.
  • Creative problem-solving to reach innovative, cost-effective, and timely decisions for business issues.
  • Highly structured and analytic mindset with strong process design and implementation capabilities.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English as all communication is in this language.
  • As a person, you have an ambitious and driven mindset with excellent collaboration skills which are enabling you to make decisions and set direction. Furthermore, you can navigate a complex stakeholder landscape and are willing to learn and embrace new ways of working as well as new ways of conducting clinical development About the department You will join a newly formed department with the portfolio responsibility for early and late-stage development of a range of projects within Rare Blood Disorders, aiming to transform the lives for people with Sickle Cell Disease and Thalassemia, as well as other rare blood disorders.
