Play a pivotal role in our projects and work closely with clients, project managers and technical disciplines to establish reliable cost estimates in the Front End and Basic Design phases of CAPEX projects.
Cost Engineers use their skill and experience to determine the amount of time, money, and resources projects will require in collaboration with the respective disciplines.
You may have heard that “It’s all about the economy, stupid”. But in our Cost Estimating department, we know “It’s all about the budgets, stupid”. (Of course, some would argue it’s also about scope, processes, technologies, agile solutions, time and quality). Either way, if you want to be at the centre of projects and work with a variety of clients, project managers, engineers and architects, this is your chance to play a key role in making vital material for decision makers so they can make well-informed final investment decisions. At times the job is straight forward, at times it is political – you never know until you are in midst of things
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: nne's Cost Engineering department is a small entity with dedicated and open-minded colleagues. We are always ready to support each other, our clients and project managers.
Over the years, nne has built up a vast amount of knowledge on our clients’ technologies and solutions. In Cost Engineering, we have focused on organizing our estimating tools, benchmark tools and key-metrics to ensure our estimates are reliable and fact based to every possible extent.
We are hiring 1 or 2 persons with interesting profiles. Are you our ideal candidate?

We are hiring 1 or 2 persons with interesting profiles. Are you our ideal candidate?
Required Qualifications:
- You have a passion for numbers, economy and the drive to visualize cost from a wide perspective and understand the impact it has on the business.
- You have an engineering or technical background and knowledge of design phases from very early Front End until final delivery.
- Preferably, you have knowledge from the CAPEX & Pharma project world. Pharma can be learned on the job, but technical knowledge from Gas/oil or other process-oriented industries is desirable. A background as contractor would also be very interesting. Your disciplinary background (automation, electrical, mechanical, process or civil, other) is less important.
- We often deliver final estimates and basis of estimates to tight deadlines, so it is vital that you are structured and able to maintain a strong overview during stressful deliveries and time schedules.
- You must have excellent skills in Excel.
- You are open-minded, have excellent communication skills and can communicate with different levels in the organization. To be successful in the job, you need to have the ability and nerve to challenge colleagues and clients to ensure the right level of knowledge is available for making the final budgets and estimates.
- You have positive leadership style and desire to give and receive feedback in a positive manner.
- Honesty, integrity and personal accountability are part of your daily routine.
- Finally, it is important that you are professional, dedicated, and thorough, whilst also bringing a good sense of humour to the role and team.
