A position as Associate Professor (50%) is vacant at the Department of Regional Health Research (IRS), Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Southern Denmark (SDU) and at the Department of Anaesthesiology, Holbæk Hospital. The position is for a 3-year period with possibility of extension.
The academic position
The position involves research, professional development, research education, teaching (including exams), supervision and assessment work within the field of clinical nursing.
Expectations and qualifications
The successful applicant has a PhD or equivalent post-graduate research qualifications. The associate professor must have main employment as specialist nursing Head of Research and must be affiliated with the House of Research, Holbæk Hospital and thus have experience in supporting the initiation of research at Holbæk Hospital, strengthening the link between clinical practice and research, and optimizing research and learning activities across the hospital and various professional groups.
The applicant must have documented research and teaching experience within central aspects of clinical nursing aimed at patients with multi – and/or life-threatening disease with specific focus on transitions in the sense of
1) internal transitions inside the individual patient’s disease or life story,
2) internal transitions at the hospital and
3) trans sector transitions.
The applicant should have a specific focus on clinical practice for enhanced patient safety in critical transitions and on practice of patient involvement in clinic and research for enhanced patient safety.
Good collaboration skills are required in connection with the research development within the areas mentioned, inter-disciplinary as well as nationally and internationally. International collaboration is an advantage but not a requirement.

Salary and terms of employment
The successful applicant for the associate professor position will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
