The Department of Regional Health Research, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Southern Denmark (SDU) invites applications for a professorship (20 %). The professorship has been established in collaboration with Zealand University Hospital, Region Zealand. The position is for a 5-year period with possibility of extension.
The position is open for commencement as soon as possible.
Region Zealand will finance the professorship with the purpose of consolidating and strengthening research in nursing and allied health. The regional research strategy has focus on development of research culture and capacity building for nurses and other non-medical staff.
Job description
The professor will be appointed at the Department of Regional Health Research, Faculty of Health Sciences, SDU and has to work part-time as Head of Research of Nursing Research at Zealand University Hospital. The primary workplace will be Zealand University Hospital.
The professor will have an overall obligation to work at Zealand University Hospital and with Region Zealand in order to strengthen regional research in nursing at hospitals and the collaborating health care system. His or her duties will primarily consist of:

The applicant must have a nursing background and document an original scientific production on an international level within clinical nursing and capacity building. In considering applications for the professorship, the emphasis will, furthermore, be on experience with:

Salary and terms of employment
The successful applicant for the professor position will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).

- research in clinical nursing, including obligations with regard to publication/scientific communication
- research in capacity building including the organization of nursing and interdisciplinary clinical research projects
- development of a joint research program in clinical nursing/allied health
- coordinating responsibilities between Department of Regional Health Research, University of Southern Denmark and Zealand University Hospital, Region Zealand
- research leadership as well as educational guidance and supervision of junior researchers, including research evaluation and assessment work
- assisting the hospital management and department managements in issues related to research in nursing/allied health
- research-based, post-graduate teaching
- contact and dialogue with research nurses in Region Zealand
- member of the regional, national and international steering committees for research
- communication of research results and scientific findings to the public
- various administrative tasks
Required qualifications
The applicant must have a nursing background and document an original scientific production on an international level within clinical nursing and capacity building. In considering applications for the professorship, the emphasis will, furthermore, be on experience with:
- health research at regional level
- work in multidisciplinary research teams
- collaboration with different parts of the health care systems
- teaching
- fundraising
- administrative work
- research leadership
- clinical experience
- international research collaboration and network
