København K

The Department of Economics invites for applications for one or more Post Doc positions. The positions will have a duration of two years, with the possibility of extension for one year, and will be embedded in Center for Economic Behavior and Inequality (CEBI), a Center of Excellence funded by the Danish National Research Foundation (see www.econ.ku.dk/cebi). Employment is expected to begin 1 September 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The Post Doc will be tied to a project on the “Behavioral Responses to Health innovations and the Consequences for Socioeconomic Outcomes”, financed by a grant from Novo Nordisk Fonden.

This project lies in the intersection between health and labor economics. We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in research fields like Health Economics, Labor Economics, Microeconometrics, and Public Economics.

The following briefly describes the overarching project analyzing “Behavioral Responses to Health innovations and the Consequences for Socioeconomic Outcomes”. The project aims at providing a better understanding of the main drivers of inequality in health and its correlation with socioeconomic outcomes. The project asks three main questions: 1) How do health innovations transmit into economic outcomes? 2) How do innovations and behavior shape the income gradient in mortality? 3) Which mechanisms explain the education-health gradient? For further information about the project, please see https://www.economics.ku.dk/research/external-research-projects/behavioral-responses-to-health-innovations-and-the-consequences-for-socioeconomic-outcomes/. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Associate Professor and principal investigator (PI) Mette Gørtz ([email protected] - http://web.econ.ku.dk/gortz/).
