Enthusiastic Bioinformatician with a flair for visualization
We are seeking a highly skilled bioinformatician with a flair for effective data visualization and an interest in bacterial genomics.
About the position
In the section for Foodborne Infections at Statens Serum Institut we are tasked with the national surveillance of foodborne outbreaks. We wish to strengthen our sequencing based surveillance and research activities by adding another bioinformatician to our group.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary group of fourteen people, counting bioinformaticians, microbiologists, veterinarians and food scientists.
A central part of the job will be to play an integral part of an international project to develop a collaborative platform for outbreak detection and investigation. The project will include collaborators at public health, food and veterinary institutes from several countries across Europe. Specifically you will be part of a small team developing a web based front-end and dashboard.
Other tasks will include applying your skills to support the groups work with outbreak investigations, method development and implementation, as well as code maintenance and data management.
Required qualifications
By training, you are a bioinformatician or equivalent (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) and an experienced programmer (prefer-ably python). You have experience with web development, data visualization and results dissemination. Expe-rience with plotly and dash is an advantage.
You are enthusiastic, innovative and have the ability to drive a project forward.
You have excellent collaboration and communication skills and are able to apply theory to practice.
