The SDU Software Engineering at the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute, University of Southern Denmark (SDU), in Odense invites applications for a position in fields relevant to software engineering, at the levels of associate professor (permanent) or assistant professor (3-year period). The candidates will be associated with the field of software engineering processes and methods.
The starting date for the position is August 1, 2020, or as soon as possible thereafter. The application deadline is June 1, 2020.
The SDU Software Engineering section is currently expanding its engagement in software development processes and tools for user interaction, e.g. within AR, VR, HMI, and related areas. The position can be associated with the Industry 4.0 Laboratory Initiative at University of Southern Denmark, a long-term strategic initiative created to support research, teaching, and industrial collaboration and experimentation. The University invests more than 15 Mill. EUR over the next five years in the Industry 4.0 initiative.
Profile and requirements
The candidates will be expected to contribute to one or more of the following fields:

The successful candidate is expected to develop and engage in a vigorous research program, collaborate with other faculty units on joint research projects, and actively participate in attracting external research funding in close collaboration with colleagues and management.
The successful applicants will be expected to provide outstanding education at all university level courses, supervise students at all levels and, depending on level, develop junior staff and faculty units.
Research environment
The Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute is an international recognized research department that has focused on robotics for more than 3 decades. The department is the origin of robotics research in Denmark, and has spawned the world-renowned cluster of robotics in Southern Denmark with more than 100 robotics companies that includes Universal Robots and Mobile Industrial Robots. Building on our expertise in robotics, we have in recent years also put the department in the lead of UAS research.

Conditions of employment
Employment as an associate or assistant professor requires scientific qualifications at PhD level.
Employment as an Associate Professor is a permanent position.
Employment as Assistant Professor is a 3-year temporary position. The employment will cease without further notice at the end of the period.
