The Research Unit of Clinical Pharmacology, Pharmacy, and Environmental Medicine (CPPEM) at the Department of Public Health, Faculty of Health, SDU, is advertising a new 3-year position as assistant professor or tenured associate professor within pharmacology or pharmacy.

The position is to be filled from January 1, 2023, or as soon as possible thereafter.

The academic position

The research areas of the Research Unit of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacy span from pharmacological epidemiology to clinical studies and cell-based basic pharmacology.

The pharmacoepidemiologic research group utilizes the world-class Danish registries to assess pharmacological questions in large populations.

The translational pharmacology group aims to understand variability in drug toxicity, drug metabolism and drug transport. Cell-based models such as induced-pluripotent stem cells, primary human hepatocytes as well as clinical pharmacokinetic studies are utilized to understand variability in drug response and toxicity.

The analytical chemistry laboratory boasts three LC-MS/MS and an Orbitrap LC-MS/MS used to analyze concentrations of drugs or environmental chemicals.

CPPEM participates extensively in international collaboration, and it also collaborates with the pharmaceutical industry. Collectively, CPPEM has a strong background in exposure to environmental chemicals, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacogenetics, pharmacokinetics, drug-drug interactions and therapeutic drug monitoring and the successful applicant will understand translation from laboratory research to humans.

The area of research is flexible within pharmacological research and could be (but is not limited to) within basic pharmacology, translational pharmacology, clinical pharmacology, clinical pharmacy or pharmacoepidemiology. The department has a strong focus on interdisciplinary collaboration both in-house and with external researchers and the new person is expected to continue this tradition.
