The Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics invites applications for a number (3-6) of full-time/part-time positions as professors in human movement and health to be filled as soon as possible.

The professorships will be expected to strengthen the profile within research on the role of physical activity and exercise in health promotion, prevention, or in the treatment of major health challenges such as musculoskeletal disorders, loss of function and disability across the life span, including the aging population.

The successful applicants will be expected to have research leadership experience and documented skills in utilizing different study designs such as cohort studies, randomized trials, register-based studies, systematic reviews etc. to address relevant research questions within the above-mentioned or related areas. Good collaborative ability with interdisciplinary research teams and other stakeholders spanning from academia to the health care sectors should be documented.

The successful applicants will be expected to bring significant experience in teaching and supervising students, and in mentoring PhD students and junior faculty members. The candidates will be expected to contribute to the refinement and further development of curriculum on education programmes offered by The Faculty of Health Sciences.

In addition, the applicants will be expected to demonstrate the ability to attract competitive funding, to have a strong international network of collaborators and to have a track record of high-quality publications in leading international peer-reviewed journals.

The professors’ main tasks will be to apply for, manage and lead large innovative research projects. The applicants will also be expected to be involved in knowledge transfer to society, to have administrative responsibilities and to teach/supervise students at all levels at the education programmes hosted by the Faculty of Health Sciences.

The successful applicants will also be expected to help form and support the strategies of the Department of Sports and Clinical Biomechanics, including the future research strategies of the research units concerned.

Employment

The successful applicants will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).

  • a teaching portfolio detailing the candidate’s prior teaching experience, teaching skills, and teaching philosophy
  • a research plan detailing the candidate’s ideas and plans for her/his future research work
  • an account of obtained research funding
