Company Description
At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on http://home.cern
Job Description
Introduction
These are exciting times at CERN with the full accelerator chain in operation, an extensive experimental area consolidation program approved, and many new ideas for experiments and beam lines proposed through the ‘Physics Beyond Colliders’ study.

Within this section, you will, in accordance with the recommendations of the European Strategy for particle Physics, help to probe physics for the future. Via Fixed Target Experiments at the Intensity Frontier, we are searching for new physics beyond the Standard Model.
If you are an experienced physicist interested in both, particle and accelerator physics who would relish this challenge, join CERN’s Experimental Areas Group. Take Part!
Functions
As a Beam Physicist you will be responsible for the exploitation of secondary and tertiary beams in the CERN accelerator complex. You will set up, adapt, and develop particle beams, participate in the design of experimental facilities, directly interact with the experiments and collaborate and guide the operations team to optimally exploit the beam lines according to the needs of experiments.
In particular, you will be expected to:
