UI Designer with frontend development skills

EMS Brüel & Kjær have ambitious plans for growing their Environmental monitoring & management solutions and are ramping up their software development strategies. We are looking for a competent UI Designer who will join the development team, working with cloud-based solutions for the monitoring and management of: noise, vibration, dust, air quality and soon more. The team develops, maintains, improves and expands the online SaaS solutions, serving customers globally. Solutions comprise of data acquisition, data storage, real-time presentation, alerting and reporting with system monitoring to ensure high up time. How the team works
Referring to the Team and Project Manager, you will join 11 highly skilled colleagues in a Scrum-based software development team.
The team works closely with product management to understand the user’s current and future needs, such as water quality measurements, machine learning and asset tracking. This enables the delivery of long-term solutions, ensuring the best possible value for customers.
Azure DevOps are used as the primary toolset to support agile development and continuous delivery workflows
Your main responsibilities:
You will have a challenging and exciting job in a friendly atmosphere, dealing with frontend design & development. You will be expected to:
- Make UI design mock-ups / wireframes using applications such as Adobe XD
- Design UI elements for our Design System
- Implement in HTML / CSS and generate graphics in Illustrator, Photoshop etc.
- Optimize the user’s experience with input from the product owner and other stakeholders
There will also be opportunities to extend your focus towards working with UX and/or working with code (React, Angular 5) if you are interested.
Your profile:
You have an engineering degree in software development or similar, preferably with experience with technical applications.
You
- are an experienced UI designer.
- are an expert in HTML and CSS.
- are comfortable with Web frameworks like React and Angular 5.
- can speak and write English fluently – Danish is a plus, but not a requirement.

- take ownership of your work as well as asking for help when needed.
- are a team player and willing to solve problems outside your primary area of expertise to benefit the team.
- are keen to understand the customer’s challenges and needs.
- strive to deliver the best possible user experience.
