Building on it recent successes in its North Sea exploration, Total is looking to recruit a new Prospect Generator - come and join our highly motivated and committed team in Copenhagen.

Approximately 350 people work in Copenhagen and you will be part of the Exploration hub in the North Sea Region.

The candidate is expected to be an expert in the generation, maturation and evaluation of plays and prospects with a proved successful exploration track record. The position will be in the Total North Sea New Ventures team based in Copenhagen. Technical skills includes seismic interpretation, play mapping and analysis, well results analysis, sedimentology and sequential stratigraphy, basin synthesis, prospect evaluation. Personnel technical contribution to generate prospects at the workstation is mandatory. Interpersonal skills are highly valued to ensure team work and coaching of younger teammates.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Screening quickly areas and/or opportunities in order to deliver a pertinent & documented recommendation, positive or negative.
  • Deliver high ranked prospects.
  • Guarantee the consistency and the proper integration of G&G data for play/prospect generation and maturation.
  • Deliver documented assessment of prospects (full range of uncertainty on volumes and risks).
  • Propose adequate data acquisitions and studies to reduce risks and range of uncertainties for the most promising plays and prospects.

Candidate profile

From a competence perspective you:

  • Have a Msc or PhD or Engineering Degree in Petroleum Geoscience
  • Have more than 10 years of experience in the industry as an exploration geoscientist involved in prospect generation and maturation
  • Should have a strong knowledge of the UK and Norway continental shelfs but the exposure to another region (Middle-East, America, Africa, Asia) will be considered as a plus
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills in both English. Danish and/or French skills will be a strong benefit.
