Manufacturing & Global Procurement Blades Blade Introduction Center
Vestas Blades Introduction Centre (VBIC) is a function within the Blades organisation in the Manufacturing organisation. The function is responsible for delivery of our manufacturing production design, including special projects, development of processes and tooling of the blades in Vestas.
We need an experienced manager to implement Heath, Safety and Environment (HSE) structures and procedures in close collaboration with HSE involved stakeholders across the entire organisation. In addition, our new Senior Manager will run the department with four direct reports and orchestrate business critical changes within the HSE area. You will be a member of the local factory leadership team.
You will need to draw on your leadership skills and your ability to align the responsibility, drive and implement larger projects, procedures and factory deliverables in a dynamic matrix organisation.
Responsibilities
Besides leading your team your core tasks will be to mature Quality, Safety and Environment (QSE) awareness and performance towards world class HSE performance, and to identify, develop, implement and maintain the HSE strategy by driving the deployment of goals into the relevant parts of VBIC. In addition, your responsibilities will cover:

You probably have a background as engineer, preferably with manufacturing experience from chemical, process industry or other similar. In addition, you possess:

Responsibilities
Besides leading your team your core tasks will be to mature Quality, Safety and Environment (QSE) awareness and performance towards world class HSE performance, and to identify, develop, implement and maintain the HSE strategy by driving the deployment of goals into the relevant parts of VBIC. In addition, your responsibilities will cover:
- Identify best practice from similar industries and develop further to meet VBIC and Blades’ and Vestas’ needs
- Ensure local implementation of Global HSE standards, processes, programs and tools based on best practice and customer/business needs - and drive the implementation, including development of training and communication materials
- Guide and support the organisation in HSE matters such as managing HSE Improvement projects, securing HSE standards, manage/mitigate risks and participate in audits
- Identify relevant internal and external stakeholders, and ensure buy-in and alignment across VBIC
- Monitor compliance status and progress with the specific HSE standards, processes and tools and continuously identify needed improvement actions
- Facilitate Taproot incident investigations and the establishment of a post incident management review system
- Secure procedures for waste and chemical management and ensure their compliance (following legal, local and global requirements)
Qualifications
You probably have a background as engineer, preferably with manufacturing experience from chemical, process industry or other similar. In addition, you possess:
- Solid people leadership experience, approximately 6+years
- 5-10 years of experience within HSE management
- Experience in operating in a matrix organisation
- Deep knowledge about ISO 14000 and OHSAS 18000 – preferably certified auditor
- The ability to set-up and being owner of an HSE system in a large factory or smaller company
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- English skills at a high level

- You are an inspiring leader with the ability to coach VBIC employees in general and within your relevant area of expertise
- You are an excellent stakeholder manager who knows the importance of getting buy-in and align expectations
- You are capable of ensuring that Vestas HSE related training is set where necessary
- You can facilitate the development of a positive HSE culture within VBIC and in the management team
- You have the ability to ensure knowledge sharing and lessons learned by producing HSE alerts and other relevant tools
