Ensuring and maintaining a safe and meaningful work environment has always been one of the hallmarks of Novo Nordisk. If you have the motivation, the skills and the experience to propel us into a complex future where safety and well-being in the workplace takes on entirely new dimensions, then maybe we have just the job for you.

About the department

In the Diabetes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (DAPI) area, as well as in the rest of Novo Nordisk, we pride ourselves of a safe work environment, where everyone can justifiably feel safe. Moreover, we pursue a level of everyday well-being in a meaningful and largely autonomous way, promoting empowerment of the individual, professional as well as personal development and a large degree of responsibility for each other.

This approach to work place well-being is developing along with the rest of Novo Nordisk, new issues mix with classics to form an increasingly complex reality. In the Business Support Environment Health and Safety (BS EHS) and Training team in Insulin Manufacturing 1 (IM1), we are responsible for the local adherance to and development of guidelines, rules and training regarding our common work environment. We are about 10 people from many different walks of life in the team, all looking forward to welcome you as our new colleague.

The position

As our new coordinator, you will help us ensure that IM1 maintains it status as a work place in compliance with all current EHS rules and regulations – besides the internal guidelines, we adhere to, when they are stricter. This will be your main responsibility, but you will also participate in various EHS projects, advise on EHS issues in larger projects and join cross-organisational networks of EHS specialists, supporters and coordinators. In short, together with your colleagues you will be coordinating the efforts around EHS initiatives – both small and large.

When workplace evaluations (Arbejdspladsvurderinger, APVs) are conducted, your expertise will be needed. The development of solutions to new issues will form exciting professional challenges where your ideas and tenacity may be exactly what is needed in a future where work-life balances are more important than ever, where our colleagues spend more and more time by a desk, and where our eqiuipment grow in size and complexity, adding to existing risks that we already have to mitigate.

When managers develop EHS targets, you will be there to assist them, when issues need prioritisation at managerial level, you will be there to inform and guide decisions, and when operators need to learn how to take even better care of themselves and each other, you will be the one leading the way through updates in work instructions, training efforts and generally being a strong role model.

All in all, this is a highly visible position, with many opportunities to learn and grow, both professionally and personally.

Qualifications

You have earned yourself a lot of experience within the Environmental Health and Safety area, but your formal education could be based in many different skill sets. Maybe you have an academic degree, maybe your background is a lot more hands-on of character, but most importantly, you have already worked with implementing the Danish work environment act (Arbejdsmiljøloven) in manufacturing setups not entirely unlike ours. It’s of great importance that you can quickly relate to a large quantity of information, understanding both the business needs and EHS issues that any work situation may present.

You are a person whose voice is heard – you motivate your surroundings, energise your colleagues and inspire managers to perform, relate and adhere to all the many different concerns that your scrutinous EHS-perspective conjures so that you together can identify and implement the perfect balance of safety, well-being and business needs in a given process. You are great at organisational politics – knowing just who to contact, just what to say and just when to do it, in order to get important issues the attention and prioritsation they need. Needless to say, your communication skills are second to none, and you build trustful relations across cultural and professional distances with ease.

As prioritisation, delegation and adaptation to changing circumstances will be a large part of your work, it is important that this thrills you rather than scare you. We need a colleague ready to pursue ambitious goals, and the skils, the experience and the personality to create strong results. Obviously, full command of the English language is a must in a truly global organisation like ours.
