The purpose of this role is to design and develop the Global Strategy for the Port Expenses Category (Port Authorities, Tugs, Husbandry agencies etc).

Key responsibilities


General Responsibilities
• Define vision and mid – long term outlook of the sourcing and approach at a global level with an ambition for deflationary cost year on year.
• Support Regional Procurement teams to execute their procurement strategies for the Port Expenses cost within the global category framework principles through central ambassadorship and representation.
• Define the Category standards and playbook that will facilitate the Procurement strategy and tactics selection to the LOC PRO teams to purchase services within this category.
• Financial cost ownership of Port Expenses Cost on a global basis.
• Host Port Authorities visits to Headquarter.
• Ad-hoc Strategic projects participation (M&A/Alliances)

Specific Tasks

• Managing projects within the Port Expenses category that will require a global implementation.
• Involvement on regional / local procurement projects on strategic spend where needed or required by global authority matrix.
• Cooperating closely with colleagues and stakeholders within Maersk Line’s Marine and Procurement community for cases in which escalations or global support could be required.
• Cooperating closely with Network Team, Trade and Marketing to align on Port Expenses strategies and further the “Global integrator” vision of the Maersk Group.
• Being responsible to provide CEN validation support on Gameplan projects execution within the Port Expenses category.

We are looking for


• 3-5 years’ experience in the shipping industry
• 3-5 years’ experience in direct procurement
• Experience in negotiations with public authorities
• Minimum bachelor degree
• Master degree is preferable (business administration or technical degrees)
• Comfortable with senior executives’ stakeholder management
• Excellent interpersonal and team skills to influence indirectly
