Maersk Procurement is looking for an Assistant Category Manger for Flexible Workforce and Engineering Services who will be able to execute on our strategies and enrich the Indirect Category Management (ICM) Procurement team.
As Assistant Category Manager you will be working closely together with the Category Manager to develop and execute our global category strategies. The Categories you will be working within is Flexible Workforce and Engineering services categories covering the sub-categories Temporary labour, Independent Contractors, Consultancy, Civil Engineering, Designers & Architecture, Marine Engineering, and Sustainability Engineering.

You will be located with Maersk Procurement in Copenhagen, where you will the Indirect Category Management, Services team with colleagues in Copenhagen, Mumbai, and Shanghai.

Key responsibilities
As Assistant Category Manager in Indirect Category Management you will be responsible for executing on our category strategies. You will be responsible for a diverse range of activities, from running global/regional tenders to developing a global framework for sourcing and SRM.
Together with the Category Manager you will be responsible for creating transparency to leverage our volumes across Maersk, secure efficient demand management, minimize risk and ensure minimum compliance standards.
You will be given your own projects where you will solely be responsible for delivering valuable outcomes to our key stakeholders. These projects can vary from large scale tenders to on-boarding suppliers onto our contract templates.
You will be working within all areas of the procurement cycle from source-to-contract. Being able to visualize project outcomes through thorough analytics, drive contract negotiations, onboard and track quality of suppliers is all within your area of responsibility.
Stakeholder management is in the essence of your role. Being close to key stakeholders and understanding their needs and ambitions is key for our success. A part of building a close relationship to your stakeholders also involves challenging status quo and living our values and ambitions on digitization and green procurement.
It is expected that you have a fundamental understanding of Supply Chain Management and Procurement processes, however in Maersk Procurement we will support your growth and development towards becoming a best-in-class Procurement Professional. It will be an advantage if you have been exposed to category management.

The ideal candidate has:
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience with Procurement, Supply Chain Management and ideally have experience with indirect procurement
- Experience from working with Flexible Workforce Management and/or Engineering Services. This is advantageous but not a requirement.
- Experience from working in a large organization
- You value people ethics and respect stakeholders, suppliers and colleagues
- You have a strong stakeholder management skills
- You are a highly result-driven and solution-focused individual with the ability to manage a variety of tasks in parallel
- Your strategic and commercial competencies are strong and proven as are your negotiations skills
- It is a prerequisite that you are fluent in English
