Team Lead Purchasing & Category Management
To support our growth, we’re looking for an ambitious Team Lead Purchasing & Category Management
You will be responsible for own categories where you must ensure the continued positive development in key figures, including revenue, gross margin and inventory turnover as well as procurement and sales in both the stores as on the E-shop
You will hold a key position working alongside the management team to develop our services and products, lead initiatives and identify business opportunities.
Key tasks
- Constant market screening and product mix & margin optimization across all products and categories
- Steering the strategic and operational buying across the category
- Guiding and improving vendor relationships
- Leading vendor negotiations
- Leading, coaching and motivating a team of approx. 3 employees
- Ensuring sales and margin results in alignment with financial and strategic goals of the company
The Company:
Silvan is one of the largest retailers of construction materials to private individuals. There are 44 stores in Denmark and an E-shop.
The first DIY store opened in 1968 in Slagelse. Since then, Silvan has become a strong brand, which is synonymous with DIY work in the Danes consciousness.
There are 1,300 employees in Silvan A/S and approx. 100 employees at the head office in Brabrand. Silvan A/S is owned by the German private equity fund Aurelius Group.
You will be based at the head office in Brabrand and become part of a dynamic and ambitious organization with committed colleagues in an informal working environment
Experience
- 7-10 years professional experience
- Previous roles as head of category management or category manager in a B2C retail environment (building industry preferred)
- Leadership trajectory
- Proven track record of successful vendor mgmt. and supplier negotiations
- Bachelor’s degree, Master or MBA preferred
- Proven analytical working style to prepare and make business decisions
- Proven track record of identifying opportunities and driving sales and margin metrics
