DFDS is looking for a Digital Procurement Manager with the purpose of strengthening Group Procurement (“GP”), adding focus on how we can enhance our procurement systems across the group, with the goal to automate and digitalize.

DFDS has over the past years been on a journey to standardize systems and processes and are right now well underway to implement new ERP – Microsoft Dynamics 365 – system across the group.

DFDS is a European company with Group procurement as a centralized function. You will have many different stakeholders in different departments – both internally and externally. Group Procurement is placed in various locations across Europe.

Your responsibility

One of your main responsibilities will be to continue the work that has been undergoing to develop and help to streamline and automate the P2P processes in current procurement systems: Sertica for spare parts and consumables, LS retail for sales goods - and ERP system for all indirect spend.

You will moreover define and drive the digital roadmap for Group Procurement in DFDS, ensuring that we as a group function position ourselves to adapt to new technologies, - and at the same time ensure that the P2P processes in current system works in alignment with end-user satisfaction and expectation.

The role will contain a various list of responsibilities:

  • General alignment with relevant parts of the DFDS organisation: Finance incl Accounts Payable, Technical Organisation, Onboard Sales and IT across DFDS locations
  • Support the implementation of streamlined processes and procedures in relation to GP systems with background data, enabling a more data-driven procurement function.
  • Key contact for the operational procurement manager in GP, in the efforts to streamline as many procedures as possible across Business Units.
  • Key contact for the compliance manager in GP, to secure that processes in the systems are in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Develop systems, manage and prioritize specifications of changes – enabling the systems to support the procedures agreed with relevant stakeholders. Ensuring that DFDS have a smooth process around new functionalities and “Change requests” from a GP perspective
  • Monitor and work proactively with Key Performance Indicators related to the performance and use of relevant procurement systems – as support for taking more data drive decisions in Group Procurement:
    • Operational procurement
    • Strategic procurement
    • System and processes KPIs
    • End user KPIs (Technical Organisation, ships, Onboard sales etc.)


  • Coordinate training; support and guidance to any user of the procurement system across DFDS group.
  • Implement systems to new entities/ships/locations within DFDS.
  • Ensuring that an increasing majority of DFDS spend is handled through a DFDS Group Procurement tool/procurement system.
  • Supporting the development of Master data in the procurement systems

On an ongoing basis, we expect you to obtain knowledge and always stay updated on the digital procurement agenda.

You will have 2 direct reports functioning today as procurement systems analyst/coordinators.

We expect you to have an internal drive to expand knowledge and skills within relevant automation/digital areas.

  • You hold a relevant academic degree (Master/Bachelor).

  • You have experience with Procurement processes, Systems, supply chain management tools, techniques and processes
  • You have experience with Project management
  • You thrive with creating data driven insights and are able to understand and work with data in order to make business cases
  • Advanced IT and office excel skills will be an advantage.
  • Your interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization and across cultures are excellent
  • As a person you are result oriented while keeping a focus on customer’s needs
  • You are able to work well in teams and with your employees and colleagues to reach both own and common goals.
  • You are able to work at a fast pace and be able to handle changing projects and priorities.
  • Your English language skills, oral and written, are excellent and you are a proficient IT user

Travel days
In order to perform to the expectations of the role you have to anticipate 10-20 travel days a year.
