Procurement Manager
Do you want to lead a smaller team and set the direction for procurement within a successful biotech company? As our new Procurement Manager, you will be leading a team of specialist while still being part of operations yourself.
You will join the Supply Chain Management department consisting of 18 dedicated colleagues with main responsibility for procurement, planning, warehousing and shipping. We support all AGC Biologics production and collaborate closely with key stakeholders and external suppliers through the entire supply chain. We are working in an international and customer oriented way to secure fast and reliable support to our customers.
The Role
As our new Procurement Manager, you will have an excellent opportunity for making a real difference. You will be managing contracts with vendors and while working closely with relevant stakeholders, you will be critical to providing excellent internal and external customer satisfaction. You will be utilizing our ERP, Dynamics AX, to manage day to day activities supporting the purchasing operation including reviewing requisitions and analyzing each line item for quantity, specifications and delivery requirements. You will be leading the tracking and confirmation of delivery of all orders by maintaining an intense follow up structure to ensure timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices and other required documents.
For you to become successful in the role, you will have to thrive in a fast-paced environment. While possessing the skills and passion for creating a strong foundation, you will be acting as a member of the team and contribute to operations yourself. As a leader, you focus on and are creating a positive and inspiring working environment and you lead by example.

Further responsibilities include:
- Manage our purchasing process working closely with the VP SCM, stakeholders and vendors.
- Leading contract negotiations for operational purchases, ensuring the best price while taking into consideration quality, cost and service levels.
- Proactively monitor and manage the portfolio of vendors to ensure that they are performing all their contracted responsibilities.
- Provide guidance on cost projections and forecasting on larger procurements as well as analyze and validate vendor proposals and pricing in order to provide recommendations.
- Manage and develop employees including individual performance management.
Qualifications
Being successful requires you to have the necessary skills to drive a first-class procurement team.
More specifically, you have:
- A bachelor or master’s degree within supply chain or similar.
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment with an ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads, preferably in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
- Highly analytical and problem solving capabilities with incredible attention to detail.
- A tactical understanding yet an operational mindset and are not afraid of getting hands on with the activities.
- Either a few years of leadership experience or the ambition to become a leader within procurement.
