The CHEC group at DTU Chemical Engineering is looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and experienced project engineer, who shares our ambition of creating sustainable solutions based on biomass and waste to produce biofuels and carbon neutral biochar.
The job
Your responsibility will be to ensure that our ongoing and future projects on thermochemical conversion of biomass and waste and biofuel production are run smoothly. Furthermore, you will be responsible for operating and taking lead on the operation of our bench and pilot scale gasification and pyrolysis setups.
You are expected to have an overview and hands-on experience in characterization techniques of biomass, waste and pyrolysis products and you will be expected to contribute to data processing and written reports, project applications for external funding and contributing with new ideas using your knowledge and experience in the field of gasification and pyrolysis of biomass.

The job

Our expectations of you
Preferred qualifications:
- MSc in Sustainable Energy, Chemical Engineering or similar
- Experience in project management, being able to coordinate and prioritize project tasks
- Experience in student advisor ship, supervision of technical staff and graduate students for their short-term projects and courses
- Solid laboratory experience, maintenance of analytical instrumentation, troubleshooting and purchasing
- Hands-on experience in operation of gasification and pyrolysis reactors and setups.
- Research experience and track record in compositional analysis of biomass and biopolymers, characterization of bio-oils, biochar
- Knowledge and understanding of analytical methods such as chromatography, mass spectrometry, elemental analysis, thermogravimetric analyses
- Good communication skills in oral and written English and Danish
