LC-MS Senior Research Scientist within Biomarker Bioanalysis for Discovery ADME

Are you an LC-MS scientist with a strong track-record in bioanalysis and biomarkers? Do you like to passionately make a difference with your expertise in LC-MS? Are you interested in developing your career in a fast-paced environment within one of the world’s largest and most successful biopharmaceutical companies? If so, you now have the opportunity to join the Discovery ADME department at Novo Nordisk in Denmark.

About the department

The Discovery ADME department is part of the Assay, Analysis and Characterisation area within Global Research Technologies, and is responsible for bioanalysis, ADME, and proteomics-based studies in the early discovery phase of our research projects. You will join a department of dedicated scientists and laboratory technicians involved in the discovery and development of proteins and peptides for treatment of diabetes, obesity, haemophilia and other serious chronic diseases. We are located in a state-of-the-art R&D facility in the Greater Copenhagen area.

The position

The research and discovery work is organised in multidisciplinary cross-functional project teams, and you will represent the department in several projects as an expert within LC-MS – with specific responsibilities within biomarkers. You will be responsible for developing advanced and robust LC-MS methods for the bioanalysis of biomarkers in plasma and related matrices. Utilising a strong background in LC-MS, you will be responsible for driving the development of novel LC-MS workflows and proactively advance capabilities in the department. Moreover, you will collaborate closely with colleagues in Translational Sciences to drive a robust biomarker strategy within the different therapeutic areas of Novo Nordisk and to develop, implement and execute biomarker plans in support of relevant projects.

In your daily work, you will collaborate closely with project teams, department scientists and laboratory technicians. The working environment in Global Research Technologies is dynamic and innovative and involves interactions with colleagues from research sites in the US and China, with an excellent opportunity to establish a strong scientific network.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate holds a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, analytical chemistry or related disciplines with a number of years practical experience from an industry or academic setting working with LC-MS and biomarkers. Experience with commonly used MS systems (e.g., Orbitraps) and methods/workflows/software associated with quantitative bioanalysis is also required. Experience with automation technologies would be an advantage. The successful candidate should demonstrate a keen interest in working hands-on in a laboratory setting in their daily work and should be comfortable working with large datasets.

The position requires outstanding communication skills and the ability to work and collaborate effectively as part of a team. Good management and organisational skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions to new challenges are essential. You have a strong commitment to high quality analysis and data handling.

On a personal level, you are flexible, ambitious, focused on results and thrive in a dynamic research environment. It is pivotal for your success in the position to demonstrate a flair for - and interest in - novel experimental methods and technologies and have a flexible mind-set. You should be able to communicate complex scientific procedures with technical proficiency both orally and in writing.

As all work takes place in multidisciplinary project groups, we expect you to be a team player, find it easy to build relationships between team and project members, and gain recognition amongst stakeholders with your proactiveness, integrity, and communication skills.

Global Research Technologies is an organisation with many international employees and we welcome non-local applicants.
