The position
Working as a critical part of the Global Public Affairs Engagement team within Global Public Affairs and Patient Relations, alongside global therapy areas colleagues, home market and EU experts your key areas of responsibility are:

As a person, you are outgoing, proactive, and results-oriented with the ability to manage complex projects/issues and manage change. Providing counsel at a high level, you will possess excellent business understanding, intellectual curiosity, be a quick learner; able to work rapidly with new information, and develop strong expertise in specific areas. You can establish credibility with policymakers and are used to working with different external stakeholders, responding to their needs and objectives – from patient representatives through to business organisations, civil servants, and politicians.

The position
Working as a critical part of the Global Public Affairs Engagement team within Global Public Affairs and Patient Relations, alongside global therapy areas colleagues, home market and EU experts your key areas of responsibility are:
- To lead in developing, writing, and disseminating/activating Novo Nordisk public affairs policy positions on key corporate and industry issues across the company
- Providing excellence in ‘bringing the outside world in ensuring Novo Nordisk’s corporate agenda meets the needs of our stakeholders and advances our business
- Proactive leadership and coordination inside and outside the company to understand contexts and build positions that will advance the company’s objectives corporately and, on the ground; including training and supporting key regions and affiliates
You will work with a high degree of autonomy on objectives defined with the Senior Director, Public Affairs Engagement, to whom you will directly report.
Qualifications
To thrive and succeed, we expect you to have:
- 10+ years’ experience and a proven track record delivering results working in Public Affairs within the life science industry or related health or corporate areas, with experience at regional and/or global levels
- In-depth policy analysis, clearly applied to business and social outcomes
- Clear record of delivering professional communications internally and externally, and senior policymaker engagement
- Demonstrable campaigning experience, including on issues with high public sensitivity
- Proficient in spoken and written English with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
It is an advantage to have:
- Sustainability and corporate governance experience
- Master’s degree in political science, law, economics, or other humanities and social sciences; OR biomedical education, e.g. pharmacy, biology, medicine
