The BRIDGE – Translational Excellence Programme, anchored at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (SUND), University of Copenhagen, is looking for a Senior Consultant to commence as soon as possible. This is a fixed term position with a start date of 1st November 2024 and with an end date of 31st August 2030.

About the programme

The BRIDGE – Translational Excellence Programme is a strategic initiative at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences to strengthen translational research in Denmark funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation (NNF) which has existed since 2017. The programme trains and educates a group of outstanding young scientists in disciplines necessary to drive translational research at the highest level in projects mentored by mentors representing basic biomedical, clinical fields, and the life science industry. The programme is managed by a Programme Chair and an Educational Co-Chair advised by a scientific committee, an educational committee and an international advisory board. The programme administration is located at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences.

Tasks

We are looking for a committed and research-active Programme Chair with a proven track record in translational research and research administration, who can lead and manage the BRIDGE programme. In addition, the Programme Chair will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Overall responsible for developing and running the program
  • Chairman of the Executive Scientific Committee to approve the selection of fellows
  • Monitoring of research projects, fellows, and mentors
  • Member of the International Advisory Board

Further responsibilities include:

  • Developing outreach activities to recruit fellows
  • Develop and host meetings and events with stakeholders
  • Utilizing the infrastructure at the Faculty to attract the best and most relevant mentors to the programme
  • Strengthening the programme’s industrial reach
  • Strengthening cooperation with other Danish universities, as relevant

The successful applicant should:

  • Have a long-standing and documented experience in research leadership and education at professor level
  • Have deep insights into basic, translational, and clinical research
  • Have good judgement and an extensive network among scientists and clinicians at local, national, and international levels

Terms of employment

Salary, pension and other conditions of employment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant organisation.
The position is advertised at the salary level of Senior Consultant with personnel management (chefkonsulent med personaleledelse) in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations). Salary supplements may be negotiated to match individual qualifications

The average working time is 9.25 hours per week.
