Do you excel in analytical chromatography, do you enjoy troubleshooting, and do you like to pass your knowledge on to people around you and collaborate with a variety of experienced people within analytical science? If so we have just the job for you.

The department

In Diabetes API Manufacturing Development (DAPI MDev) at the Novo Nordisk site in Kalundborg, we are responsible for providing analytical support to MDevs optimisation projects, optimising and validating analytical methods for new products. The department plays a vital role in support to the production and QC-laboratories. We are around 60 engaged employees organized in four teams.

As part of our team, you will work closely with 15 dedicated colleagues with expertise within several analytical techniques such as HPLC/UPLC, GC, GC-MS, LC-MS and spectroscopy. We are proud of the inclusive work environment we maintain, and we share a passion for creating ambitious results through dedicated application of collaborative curiosity.

The position

Your daily tasks will vary from approval of analytical methods, development of new analytical methods to troubleshooting and support to our production facilities. To do this, close collaboration with our experienced chemists and lab technicians is also an important part of most days. In addition, it is critical that you can promote collaboration with other parts of the organisation, as the position requires close interaction with a variety of stakeholders. Across your tasks you are expected to share your knowledge and help your colleagues and customers build a wider understanding of our analytical methods and techniques.

With us, you will have the opportunity to make your workplace your playground. Occasions to apply yourself will be abundant, and we know how strongly having meaningful fun can drive ambition and effectful results. We look forward to including you in our journey towards the analysis setups of the future that will create all sorts of opportunities to better help our patients – many of which we can’t even imagine yet.

The position is limited to a two-year employment period. In this time, you will gain knowledge and experience in analytical development for new products. You will develop your skill set and scientific know-how to a new level, and you will find that regardless of time limitations, we are ready to invest in you.

Qualifications

Because of the analytical level involved, we expect you to have a master’s degree, preferably combined with a PhD in Natural Science, in chemical engineering, pharmaceutical science, chemistry, organic chemistry or an equivalent discipline. You have at least a few years of full-time experience after graduating, primarily from working with chromatography (HPLC/UPLC), and preferably, you also have knowledge within LC-MS, GC/GC-MS, or spectroscopy. Familiarity with pharmaceutical production regulation, validation processes and protein chemistry from a manufacturing perspective will definitely be an asset, easing a somewhat steep learning curve by several degrees.

As we are always eager to reap the benefits of contemporary technology, an interest in data processing/programming potentially combined with a flair for robotics will be very useful to optimise the way we work.

We optimise the way we work continuously by applying a LEAN mind-set, and strive for simplicity, so it is important that you can contribute to troubleshooting and that you are able to “keep it simple”. In your previous jobs you have been directly involved in knowledge sharing, problem solving, and you have been responsible for conducting training or similar activities – and you thrived in this role.

You are ready to learn a lot in a short time, and you know yourself well enough to communicate how you work best, so that we together can develop the best way to apply your skills and experience in a creative, fun and yet structured and productive way. Lastly, it is a prerequisite for the position that your command of both English and Danish allows you to lead technical discussions at the highest levels of complexity.
