As our new Engineer Structural Design you will be part of our global Offshore Wind Engineering department. You will join a team of highly talented and engaged engineers at the forefront of innovative and complex design techniques in steel and composite materials. Your key tasks and responsibilities
As part of a multidisciplinary project team, you will take on diverse tasks and responsibilities in international projects of varied complexity and scale, such as: Design and optimize large steel structures such as monopile and jacket foundations for offshore wind turbines, specific design responsibilities depend on qualifications and personal preferences / interests Support Lead Engineers to present design methods and results at client and certifying agent meetings, during both the design and certification process Ensure designs are optimised to fulfil the latest health and safety requirements accounting for the full life cycle of the structure from fabrication through operation to decommissioning Perform quality assurance of design and simulation models, as well as project documentation Contribute to Ramboll’s technical development in the field of primary or secondary steel design Responsibilities may involve delivery of primary steel design work packages for Concept Design, Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Design, in collaboration with primary steel design engineers and other relevant disciplines Additional focus may involve on design of complex secondary steel structures, such as internal and external platforms, boat landings and various details crucial for functionality of the complete structure Work closely with other engineers and CAD technicians in project teams, referring to the Discipline Leads, Project or Design Manager, to deliver innovative and efficient designs to meet the client’s needs and fabrication restrictions Your qualifications Master’s degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering, preferably with focus on design of offshore steel structures or similar areas of study Doctorate studies in a relevant field or industry are considered advantageous Solid understanding of statics / dynamics and civil engineering, with a key focus on structural steel design Studies or understanding of hydrodynamic and / or geotechnical engineering would be valuable Drive to excel in the area of responsibility, reflected in design works and deliverables as well as engagement and collaboration with others Plan and prioritize multiple engineering tasks, while making independent decisions that promote / advance company goals and objectives Motivated to learn and grow in an international and skilled team of structural engineers, as well as to seize any opportunity to exceed expectations High integrity and team spirit, proactively engaging with others and offering support when required Very good communication skills and proactive, analytical approach to assignments Fluent in both written and spoken English when interfacing with various disciplines and stakeholders, both in person and virtually Welcome to our Energy division
