Novo Nordisk is seeking an exceptional Customer and Commercial Excellence Senior Director to transform customer engagement, drive innovation and navigate the complex yet exciting challenges in our pharma industry. The Position In this pivotal role, you will drive Customer Engagement setup development and capabilities across the region and will also influence the organisation on a journey from a product to a customer centric business. You will be leading high-performing NWE Customer Engagement and Sales Leadership teams across the countries, fostered by cross-functional collaboration. You will also partner with the Global teams to execute Launch Activity Plans across 15 countries, driving commercial excellence and insights generation in NWE. Your strategic, diplomatic, and inclusive leadership will be instrumental to our success. Your other responsibilities would include: Define, develop and execute on new ways of working including multichannel customer engagement and defining and developing what hybrid model engagement looks like. Assess, define & drive field force and sales commercial excellence development across NWE; assess, design process for segmentation, targeting, field frontline structure, productivity, and incentives. Drive the CE function development in the transition from a ‘new’ to a mature function, supporting affiliates to well establish their teams, new roles and processes. Support annual training plan as a content matter expert in collaboration with other functions. Establish growth and profit expectations, ensuring effective financial planning; drive optimal set-up for Sales business across region NWE; provide strategic input (targets, business plans). Qualifications The ideal candidate has the ability to perform under pressure and pursue stretched targets through a strategic thinking and a collaborative behaviour; proven leadership ability in international environment as well as diplomacy and excellent stakeholder management skills adaptable to all layers of the organisation; ability to navigate complexity with resilience and sense of direction, leading the team with clarity; high patient, customer and commercial understanding as well as the capacity to motivate cross organisationally and realise results through others; Moreover, you meet the following requirements: Academic Master’s degree in Life sciences or a business relevant post-graduate education (i.e. MBA). PhD in life sciences 10-15 years of commercial experience (sales & marketing) in the pharmaceutical industry plus 5-10 years affiliate experience or in operations Profound sales experience and commercial excellence Proven track record in project and cross-functional team management Experience in both local and international sales and marketing a strong advantage English proficiency is mandatory; other European languages are an advantage About the Department Novo Nordisk North West Europe (NWE) Region covers 15 countries across north and western Europe.
