Short description and Purpose



The air freight industry has experienced significant growth with increasing demand for cargo services worldwide. Demand is projected to continue increasing and the industry is facing a rapid transformation where digitalization, product development, pricing and advanced analytics play a key role.
SAS Cargo Group (SCG) has been successful in capturing the growth in the market as well as an important enabler for the profitability of SAS long haul operations. We are launching a Revenue Management System that will strengthen our O&D based pricing, and we have several strategic products initiatives in our pipeline. To ensure that SAS Cargo adapts to new market reality and embraces new opportunities, we are now seeking to fill the position of Pricing and Product Manager which plays a key role in SAS Cargo future commercial growth.

Main tasks



The position is part of the Commercial department, responsible for optimizing SAS Cargo’s revenue and contribution. You will be part of a small and diverse team mainly situated in Copenhagen leading the commercial agenda of SAS Cargo, offering a competitive network, relevant products and competitive rates on SAS (and partners) capacity. Your contribution will be key in supporting decision taking for our future pricing and product strategy and support our transition

You will report to the Head of Commercial, working closely with other units in SCG, such as Global Sales, Operations and Strategic Business Development, with the following responsibilities:

  • Drive and develop pricing strategy formulation and take necessary pricing actions to enhance profitability, ensuring integrity and accuracy in all pricing matters.
  • Collaborate with the Revenue Management team to anticipate needs and champion implementation of capabilities such as predictive analytics and new technology
  • Recommend nature and scope of present and future products by reviewing product specifications and requirements; assessing new product ideas and/or product changes
  • Key driver for developing and maintaining SAS Cargo Product portfolio with a customer centric perspective
  • Engage with organizational stakeholders to drive and support SAS Cargo’s digital journey to continuously improve customer offerings through digitization
  • Stay up-to-date on market offerings by comparing SAS Cargo’s product to competitors' products
  • Setting up and maintaining air cargo rates globally for each type of product/service, together with local sales teams, to maximize SAS Cargo revenue.
  • Maintain and develop SAS Cargo surcharges, by securing relation between cost and surcharges
  • Participate in strategic projects
  • Present recommendations to SAS Cargo management team for decision making and strategic planning

Pricing and product market fit Data analysis and performance reporting should be something that motivates you. This includes gathering the best sources of internal and external data, modelling the data for automated and digitalized reporting as well as making this information available responding to the needs of other internal departments.
You are at the same time an inspiring person able to understand the drivers behind business performance, draw actionable conclusions on how to improve results and communicate them to people across all levels of the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

  • University degree, Master or equivalent
  • Experience in revenue management and/or pricing from airlines, freight, hospitality or similar
  • Proficient in data analysis
  • Superior business judgment based on skills and experience
  • Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills, including with senior leadership
  • Relevant industry experience is a plus

  • Able to inspire and collaborate with people in all levels of the organization
