On behalf of our client Alcon, Academic Work is seeking a Trade Marketing Assistant for Alcon’s international trade marketing department. In this position you will report directly to the head of trade marketing and support the other three leaders in the department. Therefore, you become an active part of the trade marketing department as well as the entire Vision Care Online Channel Team. The team is spread across Europe and serves the largest online retailers within Vision Care.
This is a staffing position. You will therefore be hired by Academic Work and work as a consultant for Alcon. The recruitment process is done by Academic Work on behalf of Alcon, and all questions must be addressed to Academic Work.
In this position, you will work with digital marketing. Among other things, you must support Alcon’s Trade Marketing team with the execution and implementation of online strategies for the company Vision Care (VC) department. You will play a key role in all marketing activities in the company. You will get hands-on experience and have the opportunity to try many different and important marketing tasks.

They help and serve both patients and eye specialists in more than 180 countries worldwide, covering 90% of the globe. Alcon is one of the world’s leading eye care product manufacturing companies, helping millions of people get a better view.
About the role

Job duties
In this position, you will work with digital marketing. Among other things, you must support Alcon’s Trade Marketing team with the execution and implementation of online strategies for the company Vision Care (VC) department. You will play a key role in all marketing activities in the company. You will get hands-on experience and have the opportunity to try many different and important marketing tasks.
The job duties consist of:
- Manage the strategic action plan for the region
- Tracking, analyzing and following up on customer-specific strategies based on set KPIs
- Facilitate internal marketing processes
- Manage marketing budgets
- Support with the planning and coordination of meetings and events
We are looking for
- Have a degree in marketing or similar
- Have experience with marketing tasks from practice
- Have strong communication skills
- Are fluent in English, in both written and spoken
- It is a plus if you are also fluent in another European language
As a person you are:
- You are outgoing and good at creating relations with others, both internal and external stakeholders
- Enjoy working independently and take ownership of your tasks
- Staying up to date in the digital world and understand the mindset of consumers
- Has a strong analytics sense and like to work with data
