Do you have experience in Medical Affairs at a multinational level, across regions and independently driving broad strategies and tactics for medical and scientific development? If yes, then we have the perfect opportunity for you as our Head of Medical Affairs for Diabetes & Obesity based in Denmark. The position In this newly created position, the Head of Medical Affairs, Diabetes & Obesity will set the direction and medical strategy for the therapy areas across the Region NWE (North West Europe). You will lead and coach direct and indirect reports, drive performance and change management as we broaden our commitment in diabetes and obesity, whilst successfully navigating a complex internal and external stakeholder landscape. Your responsibilities will also include: Driving medical activities and business partnering with the affiliates to ensure optimal medical contribution to identified business opportunities. Providing medical expertise and leadership to co-create with commercial and other relevant functions processes and projects to realize overall business opportunities. Together with Medical Excellence, ensuring that the medical organizatons across Region NWE works according to the highest standards of medical excellence. Working in close collaboration with HQ and region to build medical capabilities in Internationa Operations (IO) and Region NWE. Working closely together with HQ development project teams to ensure NWE commercial, access and medical needs are addressed in Product Development Plans. Qualifications You preferably hold a Medical Doctor (M.D.) degree with postgraduate degree (medical specialty or PhD) and have gained a minimum of 10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry building expertise in medical affairs function. You are an experienced people leader with an ambitious, entrepreneurial mindset, believing in empowerment, and finding it natural to create trust, followership, while creating a motivating and inspiring culture. You bring a strong network within the medical and scientific community within the diabetes and/or obesity space and are able to engage in high-level, scientific discussion with high-profile internal and external audiences. Your experience working in an international, matrix environment enables you to effectively interact with and influence colleagues across functions, including clinical operations, regulatory affairs, marketing and market access. You have a strong understanding of drug development principles and have a fair understanding of the regulatory environment for the approval of new drugs with major regulatory agencies. About the department Novo Nordisk Region NWE is an operations unit under International Operations covering 13 countries with 7 elevated affiliates and 1 Business Area with 6 affiliates employing more than 1800 people. We are on a great growth trajectory growing from a large base, you will get the opportunity to join an international, high performing team having a broad variety of interactions with key stakeholders in the organisation. The Clinical, Medical & Regulatory (CMR) organisation supports the planning and execution of clinical trials as well as development and implementation of medical strategies across all therapy areas and development phases. We worked highly collaborative with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. The position will report to the CMR Corporate Vice President.
