We are looking for a Lead Engineer, who is motived be technical leadership within Grid Modelling & Analysis.

Power Solutions Plant & Hybrid Solutions Electrical BoP & Hybrid Grid Modelling & Analysis
As a Lead Engineer in Grid Modelling & Analysis, you will be a part of a highly skilled team, with the focus of securing grid connections for Vestas Hybrid Power Plants through electrical simulation model development and grid analysis. We have team members with both senior expertise from transmission system operators, highly skilled academia and long industry background. Our teams are working out of both Denmark and Porto.

Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities and tasks will be:

  • Clarification of technical hypothesis for solutions and propose solutions
  • Scoping and specifying tasks to reach department and project objectives
  • Participate in cross functional teams developing power system related functionality of wind turbines and power plant controllers
  • Lead technical solutions to address specific issues to integrate hybrid power plants into the grid without impacting stability and reliability
  • Engineering activities in optimising our analysis skills and generic plant design of our Vestas Hybrid Power Plants
  • Scope and lead technology projects and feasibility studies in the area, to support our technology roadmap
  • Technical vendor dialogs with relevant companies in the industry

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated technical accomplishments within power systems analysis
  • Understand complex power system issues and phenomena
  • Master's Degree in Power System Engineering from an accredited university or engineering college
  • Minimum of 6 years of working experience as a Power System Engineer where you have tried to participate in project execution in a matrix organisation
  • Solid knowledge of simulation tools (Matlab / Simulink, PSS/E, DigSilent PowerFactory, PSCAD)
  • Experience from other power system, turbine manufactures or Transmission System Operators (TSO's)
  • It is expected that you understand: 1) Power system time domain and frequency domain modelling and stability analysis and 2) Electromagnetic and electromechanical transients of power system devices following abnormal events

It is an advantage if you have experience with:

  • Power electronic converters applied to power generation systems
  • Controller design for machine drives and power systems
  • Programming (C, Python, Fortran, DPL)

This position requires approximately 5-10 days of travel a year.
