In this newly established and challenging position, you will contribute actively to Ambu’s success within the development of our exciting single-use endoscopes. We want to continue building our position as world leader in single-use endoscopy. To cement that position, we have established a dedicated cross-functional team to further develop the technologies for the mechanical parts and mechanisms of our endoscopes. You will be working on mechanical challenges which are on the cutting edge of what is possible to solve.
To achieve our ambitious goals, we must become technology champions, and collaborate closely with a palette of external partners, colleagues and other stakeholders. On the one hand, it is our responsibility to integrate different scientific disciplines into our solutions, on the other hand, we have to act as knowledge aggregators within the company while pursuing the innovation opportunities ahead.
You will be part of a dynamic innovation culture characterised by a strong team spirit. Our Global Innovation team consists of 70 people located at our headquarters in Ballerup. You will join the Mechanical Engineering team that consists of highly skilled professionals.
Develop new mechanical technology and solutions for single-use endoscopes
Your responsibility will be to develop, mature and lead technology development of mechanical solutions for different mechanical modules of endoscopes which can be easily translated into product development.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
Identify, develop and mature mechanical technology for single-use endoscopes Develop, design and engineer new mechanical solutions Identify user needs for new application areas and translate them into tangible solutions based on existing and new technology Translate technology concepts into tangible prototypes ready for feasibility testing including documentation Provide mechanical assistance to the product development teams during technology transfer and further development in the innovation process Interact and collaborate with both external and internal partners in a trusting and open manner.
You will have a broad interface internally with Ambu’s development teams in China, Malaysia and Denmark as well as externally with users, technology partners, knowledge centers and suppliers.
Mechanical engineering with experience in product development of medical devices
Ideally, you have an educational background within mechanical engineering, but it could also be related areas within product development/innovation, mechanics, physics or similar.
You have a deep understanding and experience with technology development, preferably within medical devices as well several years of experience of developing medical devices. In addition, you have thorough knowledge and experience with plastic and mechanical engineering design and you can translate user-needs into mechanical solutions.
As a person you are self-motivated, committed and have a strong sense of responsibility towards your work. You are thorough and detail-oriented, and you have great interpersonal skills. You have a good situational awareness that makes you thrive in global teams.
Since we are a global company, you will be involved in cross-cultural collaboration and you will join an international team. Consequently, you must be fluent in English and be able to communicate efficiently. Lastly, you thrive in a position that gives you the opportunity to travel approximately 20-30 days a year.
